how it looks now almost a week later after showers. no itching. only irritation is down by the bottom. doctor said moistness from BV plus rubbing together could have caused my skin to rub off. still waiting for results

there is really no difference between 1&2.
yes statistics show that hsv1 may flair up less genitally then orally and hsv2 rarely effects the mouth!
but i know people that have worse outbreaks with hsv1 then with hsv2.
its bascially the same virus bar a few differences in its make up! there isnt a preferable one to have. hsv1 is actually more prevelant and becoming stronger genitally.
if its genitally or orally you can take antivirals for both strains! some people with hsv1 like to use antivirals to stop any further outbreaks and to cut transmisson rates.
please do not use zovirax for genital herpes.
please dont use this site only if seeking education! i can send you good resources via mail!

No beef at all! It's a forum people are able to give what ever input they what! Using topical acyclovir isn't really recommend for genital! I'm not saying you can't use it, just will take ages to clear the outbreak! Oral and genital outbreaks are slightly different! Most genital won't scab over and the cream usually isn't fully absorbed due to discharge etc!
Just want to make sure she had good information! It's hard being first diagnosed when it's genital! I've herpes myself genitally and have tried it! Im also nurse who works in sexual health and have a interest herpes education and working again stigma! Personally I can say it's not worth putting on a genital outbreak! People with poor immune systems or liver issues will be given it! Pregnant women are usually given antivirals orally or intravenously coming to the end of their third trimester! Zovirax also won't stop the outbreak from occurring! That's fine if you don't think my comment makes sense 😃 have a nice day!

things are done differently here as hsv1 and hsv2 become resistant overtime to antivirals therefore they only treat with tablets if theres more than an few episodes and no it dosnt stop an outbreak i never said that it did as stated in my comment above it stops the spread hence why i only get one as i apply as soon as i notice one coming and just because one medication dosnt help your situation it may improve others everybody is different being in the medical field myself i thought u would have known that otherwise it there would be no point in prescribing and selling it if it didnt work it would be a pointless product ..
