it popped up 3 weeks after having sex with my long term partner. it doesn't itch or tingle it only burns if i am urinating and the urine touches it and only hurts if something rubs against it. my discharge is cream and clumpy like cottage cheese

it looks like it and you most likely also have a yeast infection and an outbreak at the same time. I would get swabbed and blood tested for herpes. & then blood tested again at 12 weeks for final confirmation. If its too late to swab just do the blood test and another at 12-16 weeks. If another outbreak happens between then get it swabbed asap within 48 hours for definite results false negatives will happen if the sores are too dry to swab.
