Is this herpes? Link to picture in comments

Over the past few months I have been getting blisters after significant physical activity or if I experienced friction on certain parts of my genitals, either from sex or shorts rubbing during sports. Sometimes I get one long tear/blister near the opening of my vagina when I have sex without proper lubrication. Yesterday I wore shorts without panties on and found a blister on my vulva near my clitoris. Now it has calmed down to what looks like several tiny busted blisters. I received a blood test while pregnant about 2 yrs ago and tested negative for herpes. I've been with one new partner since, and he claims to be clear of STD's. So is this herpes or am I just sensitive down there? Thanks. See link to picture in comments.

Without seeing the photos, since the link is still pending admin approval, I would say that that does sound suspiciously like herpes, I'm afraid. You should get it swabbed, the sooner, the better, in terms of accuracy.

The photo link is pending approval. I don't know much about the virus. Would the blood test they gave me during pregnancy be accurate?

Thank you for the information. This would likely mean I contracted something from my ex-husband which doesn't surprise me, honestly. That's unfortunate.

Actually, if you were IgG negative during your pregnancy, then it's the new person you started seeing *afterwards* whom I would suspect, especially since symptoms have only been popping up in the last few months. I'm assuming that is not your ex. Your post-baby partner should get tested for HSV IgG (not IgM) antibodies.

Out of interest, what was the timing of events? Did you catch your ex out before or after your negative test? Maybe it could be him then. Lol, I'm confused, and with him cheating that certainly changes things. Did you test for HPV as well?

Honestly I'm not really sure what his timing was with her. They had been talking (literally talking, no concrete evidence of sexual contact) since I was about 8 months pregnant from what I know. So it could have been the same time I got tested, and again I don't know if they had sexual contact. I don't even know if they had sex the night he stayed with her, which was about 3 months after baby was born. I didn't put much effort into investigating as it was a last straw kind of thing for me.
When I finally had my post partum/ well woman exam for birth control they didn't do an HPV test. They only do them once every 4 years or something. It's a new rule. Sorry if I'm not making sense. I'm just typing as my memory comes to me. Haha

** the only reason I didn't request std testing at my well woman exam was because I assumed they started having sexual contact after my last sexual encounter with him. Now that this stuff is popping up, maybe I was wrong.

Wow, that's awful how he was seeing another woman while you were pregnant with his child! Some men are so despicable, smh. Since you don't know when he may have had sex with her, it could have been your ex if you continued to have sex with him while pregnant, especially a month or so before the the test or any time afterwards. However, I would have expected a first outbreak, especially with the strain of pregnancy on your immune system. Best thing is to test yourself first (could turn out to be something else!), and if positive, have your current partner test. Good luck!

It was rough. I'm definitely getting tested though.

It's almost gone at this point, so I'm going to have to get a blood test. It doesn't seem consistent with normal herpes symptoms, but I'm sure everyone is different. This one came and went before I could even get a moderator to approve my image link. Haha
