i have been having dry lips lately but i keep getting this same sore spot on my lip .

Well, I've already had labial herpes, but not on the inside of the lip, so it's hard to guess. However, I think a pretty classic symptom of herpes is itching and the presence of little blisters filled with a clear liquid. See if you can get a dermatologist or a general doctor to give you the right diagnosis. That way, if it is really herpes, you can start the treatment soon so that the crisis will not last so long.
