Is This Herpes On My Lower/Mid Back?

Hi,

So I had an encounter about 3 months ago. Start of June. 5 days after I slept with this person (Protected intercourse and she gave me oral). I started getting some itching tingling all over my body. I then slept with her again this time protected intercourse but we both gave each other unprotected oral. I also fingered her. Anyways over the weeks the itching all over my body got worse and worse but no rash. Just itching and tingling. Fast forward to today, the itching has dropped dramatically. The GUM clinc and Drs refuse to do a blood test as I have no visual blisters/herpes sores. I still have the itching but as I said its a lot less.

I am quite prone to acne and pimples on me back for most of my life but these have also reduced as Ive gotten older. However, my skin just seems to be terrible now. Had some big pimples on my neck which have no gone but I seem to be getting a lot on my lower back and mid back. I can feel hat they are deep under the skin. They are just like big red bumps. I cant squeeze them either as they dont have anything in them. They dont really hurt unless I adgitate them. Maybe its the timng of all of this that is freaking me out. Also, there are soo many its making me feel gross. I actually paid for my own IgG today and have sent off my sample so should find out later this week if I have HSV1 and 2. Even though as a child Ive had cold sores and chicken pox.

What does this look like to you? Does it just look like bad acne, pimples? Ive scarred some of them already by picking them etc and trying to force out whatevers in them but nothing shows. Just scabs left. I have a massive one in the middle of my back. They do not crust over. They just heal like slow pimples and have no wet pits inside them. They also seem to be moving more round the sides of my body and chest. Smaller red dots. Look like heat spots.

If you had cold sores as a child you will have the HSV1 virus in your body. That's the way it is. But it would be unusual for it to spread to other areas of your body.

TBH the pics look like insect bites. Certainly not herpes I'd say. I had scabes recently (which didn't look like this) but I empathise with you on the itching! Itchy spots point to bites. Have you checked your bed for bed bugs?

Im expecting to have HSV1. Ived asked if they can give me the values too so I can work out how long Ive had them etc. Obviously hoping its not HSV2.

The itching all over my body is different. Its been going on for 3 months. Kind of like a stinging all over. Also quite red. Looks like chicken pox. These spot type things do not really itch unless I touch them. They are pretty hard as in they stick out of the skin. Its that they just cause really bad scarring when they heal. Also, makes me very insecure when I get naked.

I thought it might have been scabies. Tried a treatment for my itching months ago. Didnt do anything. Im going to see the Dr today just to make sure its not Herpes related. So will find out later if its related or something else.

Checked for bed bugs too and washed all my sheets etc. So doesnt look like its that.

Well I really hope you get it sorted. Obviously I'm not a doctor but I'm extremely doubtful that your condition is related to HSV. I've got HSV1 - had my first outbreak down below 2 months ago and it was excruciating - not itchy though. Just waiting for the next - hopefully not as bad.

Went to see my Dr. She said it looks like acne and a breakout. Gave me some antibiotics. She also said if it was HSV you would have had some severe pain. Ive sent off an IgG blood test. Should get that back next week. Somethings not right. Heres hoping its a bacterial infection. Thanks for your kind words mate.

Hey. Thanks for your input. Heres a link to my original thread from about 4-5 weeks ago. Your insight would be greatful.

I really hope its not anything to do with HSV. The acne is just a new chapter. I think when you have other symptoms you end up linking them together. I should find out my IgG results on Monday.

Went on a date today and just want to try and get my life back on track. Life in London all of a sudden feels like a lonely place.

I feel like it's combo acne (some cystic acne?) and potentially allergic reaction to latex?

Ive never reacted to condoms etc so Im sure its not that. It could be all coincidental that all of this has happened just after having this encounter.

I do get back acne and my backs pretty scarred but it had gotten a lot better since going lactose free. Outbreaks were/are rare. This just looks like an explosion. Maybe Im just linking unrelated symptoms together. Ignoring the recent acne my only symptom is the ongoing itching.

I got an email to say I had been sent my results. I took a blood sample on Monday which was posted and told to wait 4 working days. Guess they sent them out early. Results are below.

    HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS 2 IGG

No serological evidence of HSV Type I & II

Im negative!!! They usually band everything negative under <0.5 but have me a breakdown for HSV 1. Is this conclusive enough? Its been 13.5 weeks post encounter.

Hey, glad to hear your tests came back negative. I've actually been having very similar symptoms as you with the itching all over the body, but mostly on the face. This began about a week after having unprotected sex. I've been getting big itchy "pimples" on my back too like never before.

The difference is I've had intermittent discomfort next to my scrotum here and there and pimples on the back of my thighs too. Have you checked the back of your thighs?

      Hi mate. Thanks.

Hmmm... The itching all over is what actually made people think it wasnt HSV related. I also had it in my face a little. Mainly on the left side of my face but its kinda all over my face now but not really noticable. So whatever it is is now going.

My skin however was really messed up. I was getting these really big red spots on my neck and torso. The ones on my back were just another level. One possibility was that I started drining more milk lately which could have triggered it. Other than that it could just be stress related. However they are now subsiding. I seem to be super sensitive to eating junk food now, My skin isnt like what it once was. Hence I think it might be bacterial but I have done nearly every test out there.

No spots behind my thighs. Just mainly my mid back, shoulder area, around my color bone and had some on my neck. Was getting some around my nose etc but All going now. I also stopped touching them etc which helps.

Have you been tested for anything? Im just trying to ignore the symptoms Ive got now. I know I dont have HSV or an STD so I just want to try and get past it. I definitely have less itchiness now then compared to 3-4 weeks ago.

Oh what I do get is an itch on my penis but its not the head of my penis. Its more the tip of my foreskin. Also, some itching at the base of my penis which touches the scrotam. But it all seems skin related. As my itching is reducing overall its reducing at my penis too.
