Is this internal Cystitis or something more serious??

Hello all , I'm 33 and for 6 months I've had

Ongoing UTIs

On/off pelvic and lower back pain

Frequent urination (cant hold alot of water for long and when i go only tiny amount comes out)

Occasional Non visible traces of blood in urine on dip tests

High White blood cells in urine

Constantly on antibiotics

These symptoms stopped for a month or so as someone as I took D-mannose and probiotics recommended for womans urinary issues.

A week later pain is back and frequent urination.

These are my only symptoms. GP has said it could be internal cystisis which he told me to read up on and he would send off urine sample to lab which waiting on results for.

Earlier in year the GP hasn't referred me for anything other than kidneys scan (which I paid for privately and came back clear).

I am beside myself with terror. I don't know what else

To do.. I found bladder cancer online which I know googling isn't helpful but I feel it's a bladder test I need not kidney test.

Any advice is much appreciated , thanks

You may need a colposcopy. At least it will tell you what is going on inside your bladder, and hopefully would put your mind at rest regards cancer. Tiny samples of your bladder lining are taken to test for abnormalities. If you do have interstitial cystitis it can be a long journey to find the cause.

I'm sure you have been told that sexual intercourse can trigger this problem, although this is not always the case. If the attacks come on about 2-3 days after sex then that is probably the cause. it may even be something quite simple like a spice in food, and it can help to keep a food diary to try and identify the culprit.

If D Mannose and probiotics work then keep taking them. They dont work for everyone but if they work for you thats great.

Hi, yes it sounds like IC. I had frequent cystitis 9 years ago and after a cystoscopy it was discovered it was caused by bladder cancer. Don't be alarmed IF it is cancer as bladder cancer is one that can be cured and often referred to as a 'friendly' one. My cancer returned last year after 9 years and I had the op to remove it and all was well again. I hope that it isn't cancer in your case BUT if it is read up about it and you will see that the after treatment is BCG and chemo is not necessary with this type of cancer - good luck Cherry.

thanks for all replies apologies im late !

      so an update...

I went to see a private Urogynacologist this week and he did a trans ultrasound told him my symptoms he said he was shocked that it hadn't been sent to urology quicker. He said everything looks normal no lumps or bumps as he put it, he said was questioning a hernia 🧐 but it sounds like some infection that hasn't been treated strongly enough with AB, a little Cystitis and he said Overactive Bladder. He's put me on a low dose AB for 3 months and meds for OB (no idea what these will b? and is going to write back to my gp to refer me to urology and see if they can get me a cystoscopy.

I feel a little bit better and and I'm praying These tabs help me
