hi, i'm 19, and i have this waxy looking rash on my labia. it looks like a scrape and it is on both sides of my vulva. it doesn't itch but it burns very badly when i pee, touch it, and when any other liquid comes into contact with it. it's very red and irritated. i've been using an exfoliating brush and brightening cream every single day for a few weeks now down there to combat hyperpigmentation, so i think this could be overexfoliating/irritation from that. but the rash extends into my perineal region, near my anus, and it has a white/ashy look to it after i shower, which is why i'm very concerned. i'm going to apply neosporin and hydrocortisone cream to treat it and stop exfoliating to see if it heals. but could this be LS? the rash has been present for maybe 2 weeks, but there were no other symptoms. however, since about 2 days ago, the burning and itching started, and now i'm seeing the raw areas. however, it's my clit area that gets itchy sometimes but the patches themselves do not itch, they just burn badly when things come in contact with them. also, that little pimple there has been there for ages, long before i ever had sex so i don't think its an STD especially since i havent been sexually active in a long time, and am tested every few months in case. thanks!

hi...bare in mind I am NOT a doctor - BUT - to me does not look like LS...could be a "yeast infection" (as they can itch like crazy too)...make an appt. and have it checked out...breath and call your doctor...best of luck...

Sweetie, please do not ever brush or brighten again! You were just fine! If you don't see a remarkable difference within a week, please see the doctor. And come back and let us know how you are doing!

Thank you, I've treated it with hydrocortisone and neosporin and it has improved significantly. I believe that it was a combination of contact dermatitis and overexfoliation.

First off, I can't imagine such a sensitive area would be appropriate for exfoliating and bleaching no matter what the fashion is. Is this something that young women are doing now? I would stop that...forever. Women's genitals are infinitely varied and obviously quite sensitive. Do not try to compare yourself to porn stars of all people or anyone else for that matter. At least you aren't shaving which seems to be another practice that causes all sorts of problems with stubble and ingrown hairs.

Some of the symptoms you describe could be LS, but I would guess you need to let the skin calm down for a while to see if you go back to normal. If the problems persist you should definitely see a GYN who has experience with vulval skin diseases.

We all do crazy things when we are young, but with age comes wisdom. Hope for your sake what you have is a bad reaction to what you've been doing and not LS. Let us know how you make out. Good luck.

Great! Consider that a lesson learned and be happy with your body the way it is. Frankly I can't see any problem with it.
