Is this Lichen Sclerosus? Please help!

I've had vaginal itching for around two years now, as with most posts I've read I've been told it's just thrush but then I've been tested for that twice now and both tests came back negative. The GUM clinic said it could just be an allergy or thrush of the vulva (if that is even possible?). I have no discharge, other than the normal. It's red near the labia but not exactly bright red. I have small spots but I've googled those before (I can't remember what they're called but they're normal- so google tells me anyway) and whenever I've had an examination then I've been told it looks normal and healthy.

The GUM clinic gave me some thrush cream that also had steriod cream in it and I used that for about six weeks and since then the itching has been much improved. I think it seems to get worse with stress. I don't have any lumps or any white marks or anything which peple seem to say are symptoms of Lichen Schlerosus. The fact that it went away with the steriod cream could suggest it's some sort of allergy but I just don't know what to? I have noticed that if I wear no knickers (under a long skirt) then there is hardly any itching at all.

I am currently going through a panic of health anxiety so I can't stop googling these symptoms and it all seems to leads to some sort of cancer so I'm petrified it could be that.

I'm in the UK and I've booked a doctors appointment for Monday where I will ask to be referred because I've had enough of this now. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas or had been through similar?

Thanks!

Just white shiney streaks all on the inner part. That's where the itching is too.

Are you thinking yours is an allergy? Mine happens even with loose clothing but it does worsen if I wear tight clothes.

I wonder if yours is a food allergy, or washing powders. Are you not being referred just Incase, to rule out anything, so you can then put it down to an allergy maybe

Sorry I forgot you asked about pain. The pain I get is a sharp intense pain in my clitiris, which comes and goes once I've itched it. That's not to bad, it's the itching around it that drives me potty

Hi Jessica, i am currently waiting  for my appointment date end of march to see a dermatologist as i have been experiencing problems down below since novermber last year. I have no real itch but i have  a small sore area to the entrance to my vagina which is painful and feels like i have something stuck inside my vagina. I also have what can only describe as prickly heat in my groins, my anus occassionally itches. i have attended GUMed twice as google suggested it was herpes  but  no spots, rashes, blisters, pain on urination or pain during sex and 2 gumed Drs and 3 GPs later all say its not herpes or other STD. Two of the GPs stated it may be in my head!!! not helpful. The last GP i saw referred me as she thinks it may be LS but i have no white areas. I am feeling deflated  as this problem cleared up using betnovate which the last gp prescribed, i stopped using it but have started again with the symptoms,  constant burning prickly heat of the skin in my groin so much so my pubic hairs hurt me and the small red area to vaginal opening. I have no discharge, i have never had thrush. I have started using the betnovate again for the last two days. My period is due next week and this usually stops all the symptoms but they start again once the period has finished. I hope you get sorted Jessica and hope  i get some answers when i attend dermatology.

      Hi Amanda,

Sorry to hear you're suffering too. I hope they can get to the bottom of yours! Let me know when you find out what it is. At least you've found something that worked, hopefully it starts to work again soon.
