6 months ago I started experiencing symptoms. My GYNO said it looks like LS. It started off with small cuts with my husband and then he left for work for Basic Training for 2 months and I became itchy/dry/ burning, thats when i saw my gyno, i have used the steroid cream and coconut oil. I thought i was fine until i saw my husband recently and the pain was so intense/painful, i cried and we had to stop. I was convinced it was a yeast infection so i took a pill and the pain went away but im afraid when i see him again that will happen. These are recent pictures about one month after seeing my husband. I use steroid cream and coconut oil and it helps so so much. A couple days ago I pulled the skin down there and it tore. It is so thin. I invested in lube and Im going to try it next time i see him. i am only 19 and i cant live like this forever. We were together 2 years and i recently started having these symptoms 6 months ago. IS this LS? the pink skin use to be WAY worse and its covered in coconut oil in the pictures. someone give me some hope!

Hi - I can identify with your description of your condition. I was diagnosed with LS two and a half years and and thankfully through a lot of research and eventually finding medical professionals who know a lot about this condition have managed to recover. I recently wrote a lengthy blog on my journey through LS which you may find helpful.

Hey,
I am not a medical professional but I would say it definitely looks and sounds like LS. i was diagnosed when I was 16 and I'm now 22 so I can definitely identify with your situation, as it seems the majority of sufferers are much older.
My advice would be try not to panic! This condition only worsens with stress, and remember it is treatable and managable. See if your doctor can book you in for a biopsy so you can confirm 100% that it's LS.
it sounds like you are already managing things well but something I am recently trying is baking soda baths as that has helped a lot of people on here with the pain. I haven't had sex in 9 months or so myself but I have seen a lot of women on here recommending the vaginal dilators which help to gradually stretch the skin in a safe way so sex is more comfortable. There are lots of other tips on this forum too. If you have any questions just pop me a message, I am still finding a way to deal with this too and I haven't told anybody that I have this condition so would be nice to talk to somebody who understands.
Good luck hun! Xx

I actually feel like there are more sufferers in your age group Olivia906.... but like you say how do you really talk to anyone about this? Patient.info is great but limiting in a lot of ways. I have however found myself opening up more to others and talking about my condition when it feels right.

hello...IF your skin is "thin" u might also need a hormone cream - as after menopause the skin can become very thin and "relations" can be quite painful...ask for doctor about that...
