Hi
I'm looking for some advice of people off that have migraine
I'm 33 years old and ive suffered headaches since i was 17 , from 17 years old untill 27 yrs old i had typical migraine.
One sided pounding head pain with dizziness and sensitive to lights and sound and I use to suffer these once a week for 3 days .
At age 28 the headaches changed to near daily headaches , the pain is 80% off the time one sided and 20% off the time whole forehead.
The pains non throbbing unlike before , the pain is more constant but at times with throb only if I don't take pain medications in time .
I do get dizziness still with the headaches but not every time , i o feel sensitive to sound and lights even when the pains very mild .
I've had these headaches now near daily and the pain is mostly mild with 5 days a month off severe headache pain .
I find if I get a neck massage or see a physiotherapy dr it can sometimes get rid off these headaches for a couple off weeks if im very lucky.
My other symptoms are a pins and needles sensation on my face arpund my nose or lips .
Random dizziness and I always am sensitive to bright lights and loud noise.
Sometimes before I get these headaches i feel a intense feeling off increased energy or really fatigured.
In the last few years in having shooting stars in my vision and random black spots in my vision the is happens without a headache ever happening.
I also have a dream like feeling while I have a headache, its like everything seems dreamy and off .
I was diagnosed with chronic migraine when i was 24 but that was when the head pain was typical migraine pain .
I have been diagnosed with disc degenaration of my neck and 2 bone spurs of my neck and also slipping off my vertebra in neck this was found by upright mri 2 years ago .
I'm really confused is this all migrain are my headaches just tension headaches or migraine ?
Are these headaches still migrains even though they are not severe head pain ?
The other symptoms is thispart off these headaches ?
Also I forgot to write i take high strength aspirin for the headaches have done since 17 yrs old and it works very well for me ..
I've never taken any meds out off fear ..
Sorry this is so long im just at a lose i dont know what I'm dealing with ..
Pleas help

Hi lison. Difficult to say but I had a very similar migraine type syndrome which was related to an auto immune disorder. You don't mention any other health issues going on so assume you have no other issues. But I also had ibs type symptoms and joint pain.
If you have other health problems going on you may want to look again at the diagnosis.

I also have ibs , gerd and joint pain with muscle pains mainly in my neck and shoulders and lower back .
My blood tests have been normal
I do have the gene for heamacomatosis but normal ferrtin levels.
I have ryanuals syndrome sorry I think I spelt that wrong.
I do have widespread hypermobility aswell .
Do you mind saying what migraine syndrome you have ?

Ok so complicated. I have Behcet's but this type of migraine symptom also affects people with Lupus and Sjogren's and other auto immune conditions.
Also, given you have another auto immune condition sadly you often find if you have one condition you are susceptible to others.
People will tell you you can rule out Lupus etc with a simple blood test but you can't.
You can have positive ana or dsdna and you can find some evidence in raised esr but sufferers and good specialists know that blood work is sometimes unremarkable. A lot of monitoring has to be done as bloods and symptoms fluctuate.
I would, if I were you, see a good immunologist or rheumatologist who understands these conditions.
Have no idea where you ate based. If in the uk I could suggest someone close to you.

Hi. Sorry I don't know if you have an auto immune disorder. I can't diagnose that. Raynaud's is only one of a range of auto immune disorders and I don't know if migraine is associated with that. You should see a good specialist who can rule out any other disorder causing your extreme migraine.
Raynaud's phenomenon can be associated to other auto immune disorders. Very complicated scenario you have there and you need input of a good specialist.
