Is this my uterus lining or something to worry about?

I'm sorry for the graphic image but I have sometimes seen my uterus lining during my period, or what i thought was my uterus lining. it was about the size of a 50p and very thin. Last night while removing my tampon I noticed something hanging out after I collected it with toilet paper and took a picture as i have never seen or noticed anything like this before. it was around 10cm and looked like pink tissue with thick white around it. I am wondering if this is normal or if i should phone my gp? attached is the pic

Hey! I realise you posted this a while ago, but just to say - I have stuff like that on my period - sometimes I think it comes out when I go to the toilet so I don't always see it, but occasionally it'll be on the toilet roll. It's not always as big but I'm sure you are ok.

I always think it's skin or tissue that's broken away inside but I'm not actually sure. It's hard to know as there isn't a massive amount of info out there. I did read somewhere about it being like a blood clot (totally normal) but it looks more skin-like. I get dark blobs as well which I think is the blot clotting. To be honest I sometimes feel relieved when these things do come out because it makes me think "ah that's why I'm in so much pain" - my period pains are dreadful most months.
