Hello everyone . I am over 2 weeks late for a period . Ive had lots of symptoms as if its going to come aches and pains , dizziness , cramps , bad migraine and on and off headache to name but a few . The past couple of days Ive had a bit of blood , but mainly brown like you get at the end of a period . Should I be worried ? Last month I was so heavy and flooding . Last year I skipped periods for months then went back to being regular again . All blood tests were normal a couple of months ago . I am 52 in August

Hi Jane, i am 51. My periods were irregular four four years. I am now over four months without a period. A couple of weeks ago i had cramps, bloating and my nipples were sore. This passed and i had no bleeding. I have had the brown discharge at times. You sound normal to me. Everyone goes through this differently. I am glad all blood tests are fine.

That's probably your period this time around. I'm 54, skipping three months, getting a normal period or a one day period, it's all over the place.

    Hi Jane...

I'm 44 and my periods have been irregular for over 2 years now.

Sometimes they are closer together and other times further apart.

I suffer with the exact same symptoms as you have described.

Apparently, this is all part of the perimenopause journey.

If in doubt, speak to your g.p, hope this helps x

This is totally normal. I start my period with brown blood and spotting, and it usually takes days to get an actual period. The frequency of my periods range from 17 to 35 days, and the length of my periods last from 2 to 12 days. I will be 51 in October. It sounds like classic peri to me!

Just to update everyone , I got a proper period on Friday that I still have . Thankfully not as heavy as my previous one . I just wish they would gradually get less and less and maybe my symptoms throughout the month would lessen .
