Is this normal after masturbation?

Posted , 2 users are following.

My penis gets red and irritated when erect and after masturbation? this changed after one risky encounter, but nobody can tell me why? it use to be smooth and no red patches.

Sti tests done all negative except ureaplasma and gardernella, doctors told me not to worry about these.

Also found out by blood i have HSV1, but when questioned doctors dont believe herpes leaves permanent damage, just hides and reactivates?image

want to get back to how it was but after seeing a number of so called experts they tell me

not to use soap and change washing powder. Not the answer.

So when you have something like this going on it is impossible to be sure what is part of making it like this and what is not.

Here are the most common causes:

    • an infection, most often yeast / fungal but can also be bacterial, or combination of both
    • a dermatological reaction of the skin to something it is in contact with, usually on a regular basis
    • most common are soap, shower gels, hair shampoo used in the shower draining to genital / groin region
    • the only way to deal with ALL forms of body wash is to exclude them from ever contacting your penile skin
    • use water only to clean your penis with, particularly the head and entire foreskin area
    • always completely dry the head and foreskin so that no moisture remains
    • after Masturbation or even simply sexual arousal involving the release of pre-ejaculate you MUST do a full clean up to again remove any presence of moisture
    • use tissues to clean main semen and pre-ejaculate away, then fully wash and completely dry
    • the worst thing to do is to ejaculate before going to sleep then for the semen to remain on the head and foreskin of the penis for a number of hours
    • after a shower you need to dry the entire groin / genital region as this can cause a sweat type impact
    • depending on the clothing you generally wear, and the kinds of things you would regularly do during the day, sweat may be a regular presence in your groin / genital region, again this can become part of the problem
    • so if you did gym sessions, or training for active sports, or do distances running or cycling again sweat can be a regular presence
    • soap powder is a frequent cause of skin problems in the genital region

      .

The problem is while one thing may have initially caused the problem to occur, many different things can combine to prevent the problem from clearing.

The sequence of treatment would usually be clear any POTENTIAL fungal / yeast / bacterial infection. Remove the possibility that there is skin irritation taking place (dermatological reaction) do not use soap, shower gel and suchlike on the penis, when showering end a shower by fully rinsing the penis, then fully dry the head and foreskin area, then the entire groin genital region. NEVER apply hot water, even in the shower to ANY genital skin, these is extremely important not to do this with the head of the penis in particular. Try to control sweat as much as possible, during the day, and if you exercise always remove clothing you have used ASP, use clean laundered shorts for every training / activity session.

Switch to a quality Sensitive Skin washing Powder, do not use ANY additives such as fabric conditioners - better still switch to using Liquid Soap Flakes.

How long has this irritation been happening? How long ago was the risky encounter ...... ?

You do not say whether you tried an antifungal treatments or not ..... ?

Yep i've tried it a couple of times and persisted for 4 weeks as advised by the doctor.

There is a constant slight stinging or irritation.

I am almost 100% certain this is herpes related.

There are a growing number of Dermatologists who specialise in Genital Skin Disorders I would suggest these are the best medical specialists to help you.

Anyone can do a simple search along the lines of:

Dermatologist - Genital Skin Disorders / Problems - then the region of the country in which they live or / and largest city nearest to where they live

      Have you seen a Dermatologist ...... ?

Okay i will make enquires, I saw a so called dermalogist at my GP but they were useless. My main issue is i need to be erect for the issue to be glaringly obvious but that is frowned upon and what got me in to this mess. Most docs ive seen are not interested in pictures, which i find baffling.

Follow as much of the guide as I have detailed to you - it is possible that these put in place each and every time they are relevant may, eventually bring about change.

So you can do this anyway - change will not occur within a short period of time as what you have going on has been taking place over an extended period.

The conditions necessary for recovery to take place and for your irritated skin to become healthy again need to be constant and will take an extended period of time such as 5 to 8 months for you to notice real change.

Any future sexual encounter or the presence of something like a yeast / fungal infection could mean that you start from the beginning again in a recovery process

The other health professional that may be of some help is a Urologist

Thanks for the input, I am trying to do what i can but no result. I have seen a urologist who was a waste of time. Feels like i have an unknown symptoms that will be with me forever.

So again, put as much or ideally all of what I have detailed in place and do this consistently - the important thing is you do this from now on basically as this approach alone will bring change very slowly.

Try to get to see a Dermatologist who has knowledge of sexual health related issues, and even better, a Genital Skin Disorders Dermatologist would be best.

If you live in the UK GUM Clinics based at major teaching hospitals would be the best to try to attend - so these would be General Hospitals where many of the regional treatment centres are based.

That way you would be more likely to see a Dermatologist or even a Urologist who has in-depth knowledge of sexual / genital health related conditions.

The Dermatologist you did see should have tried you with a steroid based topical application: is this what happened when you saw the dermatologist at the GP practice?

I have seen general derm at the GP and yes they said try fungal cream for 4 weeks, i did with out change. The GP also advised steroid cream and i tried for 2 weeks, no change.

I have been to the GUM clinic who were lazy in their attitude. I have seen a urologist, again found him unhelpful, i ha e seen a private GUM doctor who said from the pictures he could see i wasnt making it up and then contradicted himself by saying it was in my head. I have a follow up with him shortly. I have also booked to see a dermatologist that has a specific interest in genital conditions.

As i have said before the problem is the issue mainly appears when erect. I feel like i am going to be stuck with this for life, i really dont understand.

The 3 most common things that are got wrong with steroid applications is that it has to be of the correct strength to deal with the problem, and GP's do not always have the knowledge to get this right, associated with this, often they give a cream when it should actually be an ointment.

In terms of user issues: it may not be applied sufficiently frequently enough and for long enough - I would suggest that once an issue has been in place for some months it may actually take several months for improvement to actually show rather than in days or even weeks.

Certainly when it comes to ointment versions what has to happen is that the active ingredients need to be absorbed by the skin, this can take 2 to 3 minutes of gently rubbing it is to all infected areas for ANY benefit to take place.

Hopefully the dermatologist you have booked with will be of much more help to you than the previous medical professionals
