Is this normal, bad nausea dizziness before hot flash?

I am 54, 4 years since my last period. I've had mav it's migraine associated vertigo Compass for the last year. It has caused me awful anxiety but I'm starting to wonder if this constant dizziness that I feel and anxiety could be part of post menopausal symptoms. But I do notice that my hot flashes i'm having more and worsening sweating with them, but I also have bad dizziness before the hot flash along with awful nausea and then the hot flash. Is this normal?

I thought for years of no. The hormones but stop going up and down. Apparently that's not the case. I was fine for a few years but since the MAV started things of gotten bad. But I want to know if nausea dizziness are associated with hot flashes? And when does the stuff start to get better?

    What is Mav?

MAV is migraine associated vertigo, it's a migraine or silent migraine with constant dizziness, the dizziness is not a spinning type it feels like I'm rocking on a boat, or falling, leaning, bobbing sensations in the head and thru the body, it causes anxiety, nausea headaches, neck pain and upper shoukder pain. Can have slight feelings if dizziness or bad episodes. I never thought I had migraines in my life but even if it's in my family I can get this. It's pretty awful because it never really stops but I'm hoping that one day it will go as fast as it came on, it was out if no where

I get the dizziness and off an on headaches. My dizziness use to be really bad, like I was going to pass out. I would actually have to go to bed to be safe. I have also had them so bad that I was taking to hosiptal and had to stay in wheelchair I was on my period that particular time. I notice my headaches have been more frequent then they use to be. You ever get that sharp pain straight pain like from the top of the head that feels like it shoots straight through.

      Hi Brenda:

You have MAV?  Its a horrible condition to have.  I've had it since July 2015, it has created awful amounts of anxiety in me.  My health anxiety is off the charts at times and it makes it almost impossible to get over.  Every little symptom is bad.  The dizziness the comes with MAV has been awful for me, I have it most days to some extent, I do have about 4-5 days a week when it stays at baseline and low level so it doesn't bother me, but when it comes back on the other days, it sends me over the edge.  I try not to let it bother me, but I am convinced it has a mind of its own on the bad dizzy days and from what I'm reading it comes with MAV and the damage to the inner ear system can cause worsening axiety.

Do you have any other diagnoses with it? What types of dizziness do you have?  Are you on any meds for it, if so would you mind sharing what they are, I don't take meds because i"m scared of the anti depressants and thats mostly what they want me to take.  I've taken them before and had awful side effects, so I just can't bring myself to take them.

I hope you have found relief with it.

Yes, I had this too, before a hot flash. It's an awful feeling I know. Are you on any hormones or trying to go through it naturally? It takes about 3 years to get rid of that feeling unless you go on something. Have you tried HRT?

Hi Patty I am just turned 60 and have started the extreme flashes all over again this time I am having nausea upon waking up each morning like having morning sickness and am dealing with gastro intestinal issues as well as anxiety. I am also dealing with some vertigo issues as well. No idea when this all ends I thought I was finished with all of this by now. Hope you get some relief soon.

I get awful nausea sometimes and the dizziness but not always with the hot flush. I was told many years ago when I suffered migraines as a child that they would go when I hit puberty but would more than likely get them back when i entered the menopause. up to now I have had two attacks  but not as severe when I was a child
