Hi just need some advice as to what I'm experiencing if it's normal or should I seek some advice from my GP????!!. My GP said because of my periods ( I haven't really had much blood just a lot of brown dish arch ) for the last 4-5 periods. What I'm experiencing is quite a lot of pains in my stomach,it sometimes prevents me from standing up for a long time the pain is quite a reacurance if and when I stand it's more like a very bad ache like period pain?!!. This is the 4th time in 2 months I have been getting this I'm currently sitting with a hot water bottle to try and ease the pain, taken some nurophen plus but nothing at the moment is working? Is this normal and if so is there anything I can take to help with the pain, I know peri is normal for us as we get older and all women experience this or these symptoms at some point, there was a time I never went to see a doctor now I seem to be going an awful lot??  Can anyone relate to my symptoms? Or any advice please ,. X

I'm peri ( as my periods: for the last 4-5 months I have had a lot of brown discharge with very little bleeding) as well as other symptoms she said that I'm peri. Just now concerned about these awful strong dull pains I'm experiencing lately!!?.

Personally if your getting kits of pain ask your doctor to refer to gynaecology to see what's going on we shouldn't suffer like this

Hi Michelle I've been having this on and off for last three years I'm 45 and I've had two scans on my ovaries which are internal so look at everything else as well and apart from a couple of fibroids everything was as it should be between April and July this year I was having it every two weeks and then I had 15 days of flooding but my doc says it's all to do with peri although I did have some pain it wasn't as severe as yours sounds so go and see gp for advise

I think you GP should have you see another doctor it could be something else if you can barely stand up because of the pain Have your GP suggest another doctor for your pain

Hi Michelle, I would agree to get it checked out just in case. I am having a similar experience. I too have just started with peri this year and had a few months without periods but constant period type pains, in my abdomen, lower back and down my legs too. It was this site that convinced me I didn't have cancer smile

I saw the GP last week who confirmed the symptoms were perimenopausal. I used to get very bad period pain which left me unable to move off the settee for just one day each month - I think I would prefer that than the constant low level pain I'm getting now which just makes you feel like doing nothing but sitting down. It's the not knowing what to expect next and the constant trips to the loo to see if you've 'come on'. What a drag! I hope you can find some pain relief that helps.
