Is this normal with sertraline?

Hey, I am currently on 50mg sertraline for anxiety and low mood and I have been for three days. I have noticed that my anxiety is absolutely terrible, I find it difficult to sleep, my heart is beating out of my chest, nothing feels the same, I can not even watch TV without feeling some strange feeling, nothing feels fun anymore. I take it at around 11am and I somewhat feel okay during the day but during night time I feel terrible.

Please help, thank you in advance.

    Hi Natalie,

I also take 50 Zoloft, when I first started it ,I thought I was dying. Had severe anxiety attacks, shakes, headache, tense muscles around my neck. I too couldn't watch to much t.v. or even read, I love to read too. I am now almost four weeks in and I can now sleep like a baby. Before I started taking it my sleep was the pits. So just give it time. Keep the faith and you will eventually feel better. I still have away to go before I feel like myself again, but I just keep thinking that this too will pass.

I promise it is very common. My anxiety & low mood went through the roof. It was an unpleasant surprise as I've been on it before & don't recall any particular problems that time. You will probably find it will also happen if you increase the dose. I even had real trouble with 25mg starting dose. If needed, ask your doctor for some anti anxiety meds to help you through the early stages. You will have to be strong, but it will get better.

Hi Lawrence. I know you were like me and changed from citalopram at onetime. On 100mg now sleep is pants, appetite is non existent and anxiety sucks! Do you think this is because it's to lower dose after 40mg of citalopram x
