help! very painful. nothing on my lips or anywhere else. woke up with this painful sore. not sure if it is a cluster of sores or just one. it hurts real bad and stings when anything touches it.

The herpes lesion is quite characteristic, with several fluid-filled blisters. Your lesion looks like an aphthous ulcer. In any case, the best thing you can do is to see a doctor to be sure.
