Hi Jay,
It looks like an anal fissure but a colorectal doctor will give the right diagnostic. It happened to me before and I thought that i have piles, went to NHS consultant, had banding 3 times without success and I ended up to go to a private clinic and I was told a different story. Apparently I have:
I need surgery for anal fissure plus removal of the polyp which is awful but don't have any choice. My advice is to go and see a specialist because this could become a nightmare, trust me, I am talking from my experience. At the moment I am forced to go and have this surgery private, it's scheduled in DECEMBER and I am so scared but to get my life back I need to do it. I am only 31 years old female and suffering for almost 8 years. If I would've gone on time this could've been resolved but well later then never.
All the best,
Suzana

Hi Suzanna
thanks for putting the fear of god in me 😃
this has not been happening for 8 years, only the last 12 months. but i guess in the first instance its a point or concern.
i was more seeking other peoples opinions and thoughts who have had similar symptoms.
im 33 and never have engaged in any anal activities as such...
any further info would be appreciated. will go to the doctor if its not resolved in 2 weeks.
thank you

Hi Jay,
So sorry I scared you but my symptoms where exactly the same at the beginning and it got worse. Don't be frightened, go to a specialist and they will see what's going on. My advice is to look for a good specialist as I had a horrible experience with the NHS.
All the best,
Suzana

Hi Jay,
My backpassage looks quite similar (purpleish and swollen). But I never paid that much attention to it before so that's how it might always have looked.
I haven't seen any blood yet but I have a feeling of fullness / pressure in the rectum (kind of feels like I need the toilet even after I have just been) - do you have these symptoms too?
I'm going to try and get a GP appointment tomorrow and see what they say.
Thanks,
Nicholas
