Is this really a hot flash?

I had thought that my so called hot flashes had decided to take a break. I got sick with a tummy bug and it has come back full force. I am past the bug but have found all I have do to is stand up or walk or well move in general and these hot flashes come full force. Now my concern is, I am starting to wonder if it in fact is a hot flash as I do not sweat with it at all.... my upper arms feel like they are burning, my thighs feel like they are burning and I feel like I am in pain, my heard does somersaults all over the place, and my hands and feet get cold, I get shaky and today I discovered I go pale, and my lips go almost a blue colour....what the??? It lasts for around 5 minutes and I am back doing ok. I hate this, I don't want life to be like this scary all the time

thank you... it means a lot (although I don't wish this on anyone) that I am not just dying haha... No matter how much I try to convince myself it is a hot flush, its so horrible that I think this could be it...the time I collapse and die.

I've never sweated with a hot flash. My feet will burn, sometimes my backs of arms, upper back, face, plus all kinds of other stuff goes with it like adrenaline rush, headache, dizzy, joint pain, teeth pain, etc..

I do think it's my version of a hot flash.

    It's dreadful.

It does sound dreadful as well...yes I get headaches and dizziness as well.... joint pain etc. How long have you had it for now?

I've been going through it for 2 1/2 years. My last period was in February.

    Hi Jamie

I have just joined this forum and your symptoms seem very similar to mine. I don't tend to sweat but will suddenly get very hot, with on worst days itchy burning skin from the tops of my ears, through my face, neck, arms to my knuckles and on the worse occasion down to my knees. Mine last for hours.

Sometimes, I just get a burning sensation in the face with cold hands and feet.

Initially, I took a sage herbal tablet and it stopped them. Now they have come back and I have just been back to my GP. He tried me on clonidine Hydrochloride tablets - they did not work for me. Now I have been prescribed Evorel Conti patches which is HRT. I am using my first patch quite nervously. In 3 days I have had one flush and it was not as bad as usual so fingers crossed. Of course the location of the patch itches!

who would want to be female!

I hear you, I went through a couple of years of being completely hot all the time, I could not tolerate the heat at all because of it, I actually looked red as well sadly. That stopped and these symptoms started ... I hope you go well with HRT. I personally can't have it. So have been using magnesium oil and upped my intake of vit c to help my immune system but no idea really what else to do. I still have regular periods, although I was getting them fortnightly for a time. I wish it would stop. If we have no choice to be reincarnated I want to be a man lol

    Hi there,

I'm wondering wether some funny turns I've been having are in fact my version of hot flushes.

I get hot, I sweat but only hands and feet and sometimes my chi-chi 😃, I good dizzy, have shortness of breath and tachy and then.I almost always need a bowel movement. But like you whilst I'm boiling hot if I look in the mirror I'm pale and pasty. This all then passes after about 20 mins, but I live in fear 😦
