Is this REALLY IBS???

Have had IBS on and off since 2007. Am currently taking bentyl. The pain, swelling, and bloating are making me so miserable! I hurt in my back and if I dare to try and eat, I suffer in pain. I immediately blow up (my stomach), and hurt so bad in the left upper abdomen are through to my back. Don't really have nausea, just no appetite. I guess because I know food is growing to hurt!
This bout I also feel very fatigued and ache in my muscles. Only one round of diarrhea and stools are somewhat normal. Any advice or help on what this may be? Can I S do this?

Fatigue is common and you can also get joint and back pain. Anxiety about your symptoms will make you feel worse.
Does Bentyl help your symptoms? If not ask your doctor for something else. I take Buscopsn when my pain gets bad.

Thanks so much for your response! It makes me feel a little better to know it may still be JUST IBS.
Is the medication you named doctor prescribed?
Bentyl doesn't really help anymore

You can get buscopan over the counter in Boots or Sainsbury.
Be careful though, it has given me palpitations. Try to cut the first tablet in two, I always do that with new medication.

I originally tried Buscopan myself after diagnosis on an over the counter basis. My eighth doctor who recognised my symptoms printed off a leaflet on IBS and didn''t prescribe anything. While undergoing a gruelling three months of tests and a long wait for answers. one doctor tried me on Mebeverine to see how I would respond. It upset my stomach immediately and I had to throw them out. I later found out they can irritate the stomach.
Buscopan is very mild at least for me although everyone is different. It had worked for my brother's IBS. Once I found it worked I got it on prescription and now I just buy it at the chemists. Going to doctors stresses me because I don't want to bump into the nurse who bungled my blood test and has permanently damaged my arm. Her colleague later laughed at me when I complained and asked for the injury to be checked. She didn't do that properly either. Both of these individuals triggered my IBS which came on two months after the incident.
