Is this seriously another outbreak?

I was recently diagnosed with Genital HSV1 on September 4th. My outbreak, which was horrible, lasted 6 days. (Ended before I even got the test results). I have shaved since then and now have stubbles. I also had protected sex with my ex boyfriend (we're hopefully working things out) yesterday. How do you know when it's a true outbreak? I'm on acyclovir and started taking it three times a day for precaution. I am also puttin Abreva down there since I have HSV1.
I am also taking lysine, Echinacea, vitamin d, and vitamin c daily since I started my first symptoms a few weeks ago. Could another outbreak really present itself this early?

Yea it can depending on your triggers you have to learn to recognize them something I still haven't mastered. But most likely irritation from shaving try coconut oil after you shave or lemon balm oil.

I had no idea you could have outbreaks so close to each other... I'm rather itchy intermittently. I don't see any sores but it's hard to look entirely
thanks for the idea on coconut oil and lemon balm oil. I will look into that. I hope it's not another outbreak so soon... I thought HSV1 genitally was supposed to be the mild one...

Hopefully shaving isn't your trigger it is for some ppl. Sex, alcohol, non cotton panties and the list goes on. Shave with an electric razor if you don't seemed to help me with irratation.

I'm currently going through agonizing pain of my first outbreak right now. When you say yours lasted 6 days, is that how long it took for everything to be back to normal like no scars and all or is that just when the pain stopped? Also, did you experience painful urination after those 6 days?

Like Feliz said, 6 days is typically short for a first outbreak. I was completely healed (had a follow up with my doctor too who agreed). I was just very thorough about taking meds, keeping the area dry and clean, drinking plenty of fluids, etc. in regards to your urine pain, diluting your urine will help ( I went through a 35pack of bottled water in 3 days). Also I used AZO, it's over the counter for urine pain , worked wonders! I also would use a cup of warm water and use that to dilute my urine while I peed. You will get through this.

That's why I said I think it's from you shaving.

I just wish I knew the difference.... my child got acne on his chin and immediately I put Abreva on it (even though I don't have oral herpes).... I'm just so afraid. And I'm afraid to give it to my partner, especially since we're not official, but he knows the risks. (I think we both think he gave it to me unknowingly) I just don't want to freak out over every itch, tingle, discomfort.... how can you tell an actual outbreak?

Mine aren't traditional either so I panic myself. I had irritated hands from using a lot bleach when I clean I broke down and cried thought I passed it to my hands I didn't but I constantly panic had a rash on my face heat rash panicked again. I think it's natural because it's so many unknowns with this disease

How long have you had this if you don't mind me asking? And what strain? Am I really going to experience a lifelong panic and paranoia?
I'm afraid to even masturbate. (I'm a HIGHLY sexual being) and if sex causes outbreaks, how can you even have a normal sex life then?

Years!! But my panic just started I read something I never knew cause the first thing I read said our immune systems stop that from happening so when a woman a separate post said she passed it to her hands I just stared panicking. I'm guessing it's rare. I'm sexual too and I masterbate a lot and never passed it any where else thank God

That's really scary... then how can you even have any form of forplay? I know what I read that it's rare to give HSV1 genitally to a man. There are also so many contradictions between articles. How do I know what to believe? Do you just wash your hands instantly when you masturbate then? (As all should anyways lol)

Honestly it would have to be true cause as many ppl that have and whoever passed it to us we had some form of four play with them and this is only on our genitals. I think that's why it's such a scary disease. Like how u have hsv1 down below and some ppl that have recieved head from someone with cold sores gets hsv2. My friend he has outbreaks every 6 yrs said he started off bad outbreaks like the pics you see said use to be every 6months then every year now 6/8 yrs. he has had it since he was 17 I think and he is 40 he drinks smokes and is married never passed it to his wife they never used condoms from when they met. It's just strange it's different for everyone.

I wish there was more "in your face" awareness about this. I honestly had no idea how common it was until I contracted it. It is very scary and varies between each person which makes it even worse. I have endometriosis and supposed to have surgery again in a month. I heard surgery can make you outbreak. Also, when I was getting the back and hip pain prior to my first outbreak, I thought it was me ovulating because my endometriosis has made things excruciating. I also get frequent UTIs because of my lupus. So I have no idea how I'm going to differentiate everything 😢 I really hope I'm as lucky as your friend. I'm a single mom and would love nothing more than a normal family life. How often do you get them? Do you have HSV2 then?

I find it depressing to count but every couple of months if I can guess. Four play is normal wouldn't have sex with an outbreak anyway so he wouldn't even be at risk or high risk cause I read shedding can happen any time. With hsv1 i would think you wouldn't have the same worries as us. Less shedding less outbreak lower risk of passing herpes.

You ever try aroma therapy I saw some on amazon I want to try I plan on becoming very worry free life is to short for me to worry over things I can't control. I'm just learning to eat better and stress less and keep my immune system up

Every couple of months for years? I'm so sorry... I'm glad they have been mild most of the time. In regards to HSV1, I've read yes it's milder and no it's the same... so I'm not sure what to believe.

I take 5HTP too for mood. I'm going to start talking to a professional too. The problem is I have auto immune disorder that needs my immune system suppressed... and I have herpes now that needs my immune system highly active. There's no winning... I haven't told my rheumatologist yet though. So idk what's going to happen... I also have a ton of essential oils and take Epsom salt baths with lavender for relaxing. I am allergic to a lot of foods that are bad for herpes so that's a plus! Yes! A stress free life is a happy one (but not a logical one 😝

I'm going for as stress free as possible. Things I can shrug off I will and I'm not gonna fuss over everything as I've done in the past. Yea for these years every few months. But it's only a itch and tingle maybe a lil friction like feeling everything I thought was an outbreak my doctor said wasn't boil, ingrown hair so these bug bite looking things I've recently noticed have to be them one inner thigh and on the crease of the bottom of my butt cheek where under wear hit most times. I'm not a big shaver but I did it for months to try to see what my out break looked like never saw one.
