Is this sleep apnea or stress?

Hello! I'm a 16 year old female who has never had any sleep issues up until about 3 weeks ago. When I start to fall asleep, I start to feel really anxious, light headed, tingly everywhere and my heart is racing. I can usually get sleep after awhile and stay asleep but when I wake up its usually early than normal and again, I feel super anxious and panicky. My therapist thinks it might be stress (because I have been so unbelievable stressed lately and my anxiety is pretty bad) but everything I have read says sleep apnea. This has kinda come out of no where. Some nights are better than others but it has kinda gotten worse. I weigh around 160 and I'm 5"4 so I'm not obese and i don't snore but its like I forget to breath.

Does anyone know what's going on? If you do please help! I'm terrified to go to bed...

Brain has amazing powers and it will heal itself. Eat curd rice by 7 pm and go to bed 9 pm every day. Please read about the experiences of sleep medication on the internet. You are too young to fall into such horrific mess.Avoid coffee and tea. Drink plenty of milk.Eat veggies and fruits. Dont be under weight.Eating plenty of curd rice at 7 pm will give you soothing restful sleep.

Sounds like you are suffering the effects of severe stress symptoms. If you do not deal with these emotions and bottle things up during the day then you suffer at night. When we fall asleep our minds process what has happened to us during the day and reacts to things that we haven't dealt with. Hence in your case a rush of stress hormone causes a panic attack and wakes you up in a state. I need to say that this is just my opinion. I am not qualified as a medical professional. I am just someone who has a serious interest in all things health related and I have done a lot of studying and I am also a fellow panic attack sufferer. You don't say what is causing your stress but you need to learn some coping strategies if possible. Have you got a trusted, responsible person you can talk things through with? Sharing problems can be an amazing way of changing your perspective on an issue. Again, I'm not a doctor but I think snoring is one of the main symptoms of sleep apnoea. I have just been diagnosed and this plus the fact that I keep falling asleep all over the place was what alerted my GP. Take care and I hope your life improves very soon x

Thank you so much! This was a big help... If you don't mind me asking one more question, would you know if stress could cause me to wake up weak and lightheaded? If not that's absolutely fine!
