10 months ago i was diagnosed with mono. chills and fever on the afternoon, not a lot of fatigue, swollen glands on neck and tender to touch and had IgG elevated 4 folds of normal. this all passed after a month, but the lymph nodes remained even though they had went down they didnt dissappear completly. now i have the same thing all over again. i have fever and chills on the afternoon and evening for 2 weeks and then swollen painful lymph nodes. now after 3 weeks the fever has returned again, it is very mild but i am scared now of the possibility of lymphoma . i dont know what to do anymore.i also have lost my appetite. i am 19. i also have polycystic ovary and my periods are absent some months. i dont know where to go anymore because i am afraid in this time of covid nobody is listening. please help. is this fever and swollen painful nodes normal recurrence of mono?

Hiii there, i just want to say i get you soo much. I'm 19 year old girl as well and have had this since January which isn't as long as you but it has put me through it. With this virus I've had so many wierd and scary symptoms like tingling, twitches, vibrations, persistent swollen gland on my left side, sore throats, blurry vision, stomach aches, complete loss in appetite for a brief period of time, white tongue, sensitive sore skin, sore neck/glands sometimes, some itching etc and as a severe hypochondriac it all terrifies me and made me think i had all sorts. I've had fevers and chills, muscle aches and tiredness, thought it was HIV got tested and was fine (but i am still low key worried, me being silly I guess). Saw the doctor about it all and he said again its just the virus and my intense anxiety and nothing more sinister. With my continuous and extensive research of this forum I've seen that the things that we are suffering are common among so many others. You're so right with everything going on its so scary but also so hard to get help, but tbf I've started convince myself like you should that it is just the virus running it's course. All the anxiety and stress we can't help but put ourselves through doesn't help at all as it runs down your body more and can make symptoms appear, seem or be worse. 100% go to the doctors if are really worried to get that reassurance, but I would say just try not to always think the worst, rest, take vitamins and take care of yourself because you need to just give your body all the help you can to get rid and calm the virus. Easier said than done but try not to worry too much and stay off google as well because each time i tried to self diagnose i was wrong, everytime!!! Hope this helps and like me helps you realise your not alone in going through this xx

thank you so much for your kind words! i am really sorry about everyone who suffers like this from ebv i dont know what makes us so special to develop mono like this :p yes i have seen that mono can have many different symptoms and can have recurrences, contrary to what medical sites say. i think the medical community really needs to update this topic. i really hope you are doing better. i know that having anxiety on top of all of this makes our lives more difficult, but with the help of God i hope we can have a quick recovery!

worrying can play a big part on your recovery! if your mind is constantly on the virus u will notice all kinds of strange new symptoms or problems.... been 9 months for me and was doing pretty well with taking vitamins and anxiety meds but with allergy season and covid mess this has been a tough time.... keep ur head up and try not to focus on the problem too much

yes i have taken vitamins and supplements the first time i had mono but after feeling better i didnt take them again. apparently that was a mistake and i am taking them now again.

did you have symptoms all this time or did you get better and now they have come back again?

i really wish a quick recovery for you too!
