Is this the cause of reducing?????

Good day. 20 days ago I reduced from 112 mg’s of Ven to 75 mg’s. with my Docs blessing of course. Now I’m experiencing some dizziness and just an overall feeling of feeling not well. I want to get off these meds altogether and I’m just wondering if feeling like this is par for the course!!!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

Hi John, yes it is. I have gone off of it several times. For some reason, the dizziness kicks in several weeks after reducing. Keep enduring it! It's worth it once you are off of it!

Hy John,
I come to this discussion having come off Ven too fast and suffering protracted withdrawal that landed me on mirtazapine and then a ven reinstatement. I've spent a lot of time on tapering support forums! When on these meds for a long period, the nervous system adapts to take into account the drug's actions, dialing back its own neurtransmitter production to bring about balance. When you taper too precipitously, you end up with symptoms because it's like yanking part of a trellis out from under a vine that is growing on it. Take away the trellis little by little and the nervous system will adapt back without too much fuss (symptoms). Some are blessed with the ability to make bigger cuts without too much trouble, BUT, the when you have symptoms, it is never good to continue cutting until you feel solid again! And, if you cut big amounts and have big symptoms, that is a sign that you are going to have to go a little slower, cut a bit less steeply! Some of us have had to go as slow as 10% per month. Keep in mind that 75 to 37.5 is a 50% cut and that is likely to give you withdrawal. Your first cut was about 34%. What form of ven are you on? Are there little beads in the capsule or are there the larger ones? Extended release or immediate release? Beads are the best because you can remove a lesser percentage of beads from the capsule. I save those extra beads to stretch my one month supply. Due to my bad withdrawal experience, I have been tapering the very slow route and yes, it is taking forever but I don't want to end up back on. I have to say I've felt very good throughout.

Hi there john 059 I've managed to get down from 150mg to 37.5 well just under! Yes you do get awful feelings of being unwell, all of us I'm some way or another. I started getting brain zaps like many of us you'll find have, that will pass in time. I also and still am finding it very hard to wake in the mornings even on the lowest dosage, if your totally to unsure please consult your GP as this is an awful tablet to come of off. I have no other medications prescribed to help me wean of off this in-between which is making me kind of not produce any further.
