I was told by a counselor that she doubted that Venlafexine was doing much for me since I had been taking it for 10 years.

I've been taking Venlafaxine for around 18 years & I also wondered whether it my body was too used to it that it stopped being effective.
I saw a new GP last week & mentioned this to her; she didn't think that would be the case (unlike, say, painkillers which we can become used to & end up taking more to feel the benefits). However, did increase my doseage & I am now taking 300mg.
Whether this will help me, I don't yet know.
Each medical professional will have their own ideas & opinions, & I guess we have to go by what our one tells us.
