hi, i had plpitations alot lately, my cardiologist did test an said everything was good, and said its normal to have these, i still am scared if she didnt take me seriously, i have anxiety, but this morning in the middle of the night, i had a bad dream, and i dont know if i woke up from the fast heart beat, or from the dream, but when i woke up, i had a fast heart beat, i got so scared, i searched it up, and said sleep apnea, and i know sleep apnea is a cause of sudden cardiac arrest, and i have palpitations which makes it a higher risk, please someone message back.

Sounds like you're just experiencing high anxiety. I highly doubt it's sleep apnea, sounds more like you had a bad dream and woke up nervous from it. I've had that many times. Actually, if I've been feeling extra anxious I've woken up nervous all of a sudden without even having a bad dream! Sleep is very much affected when you have high anxiety, a lot of people w/ anxiety tend to have insomnia and bad dreams, racing heart when they try to fall asleep, etc. As for racing heart and palpitations, that is also a very common symptom of anxiety. If your tests came back normal then it is just your anxiety. I once had a period of 3 months where I had rlly bad chest pains, numbness in my arm, tingling in the hands n feet. I freaked out n worried that I had heart issues so I went to Dr and had an EKG and bloodwork done. Everything came back totally normal and eventually all of those symptoms slowly went away and I haven't had chest pains since. It's amazing what your mind can do to your body.

If the feelings don't come when you are distracted that is a definite sign that it is anxiety and nothing more. If it was something seriously wrong with you it would not go away, it would stay there distracted or not, AND it would get worse too (this is what my Dr always tells me lol). Unfortunately if you have gone to the Dr and dont tests, you just need to accept that you have done all you can for now. As long as you are proactive that's all you can do! And I think even if you did have them do tons of tests and check every single thing in your body, you STILL wouldn't be satisfied bc thats how I am also lol. That's what health anxiety is, an irrational fear that something is wrong with your health when there really isnt. I suggest talking to someone, try searching online for a therapist in your area! It really helped me a lot when I saw one.

To answer your question, waking up with a rapid heart beat is not dangerous. You have been checked out by your doctor and your heart is OK.
Rapid heart beat is very common when people wake up who have anxiety. Sometimes we think we are not anxious but when in fact there is an underlying anxiety.
You can get checked out for sleep apnea by doing a sleep test, but I highly doubt that is what you have. It sounds like you have anxiety.
The rapid heartbeat is due to the release of adrenaline by the brain. It wears off by itself and does no harm. What you need to do is learn to manage the anxiety that is causing the rapid heart beat.
don’t Google things because it won’t pertain to your individual situation. Your doctor is right when she said heart palpitations are normal. Millions of people get them. You are not going to have sudden cardiac arrest. That is very extreme for people who are in poor condition in the first place, already have heart problems.and are way older than you!
I know many people who have sleep apnea and are in no danger of sudden cardiac arrest. It is very well-managed with a CPAP machine they use at night. Please don’t overthink this because you are fine .
listen to some great meditations on YouTube for anxiety and fear. They give you a different perspective and they really calm me down .
relax and do things you enjoy. One day at a time. 🌸🌸🌸

You can suffer bouts of anxiety even when you sleep and your heart palpitations more than likely stem from your anxiety. Then your heart palpitations make you anxious. A vicious cycle. And having a bad dream made you wake suddenly causing you anxiety and heart palpitations due to this. Mix all this together at the same time and you feel awful!
Just try to relax and trust your Doc!
