Issue with bowel movements that just started (29/male)

All of my life, except for my baby years I've had no issues with bowel movements. I know when I need to go and I go just fine. Within the past month, I've been struggling to pass bowel movements. I will sit there for 5-10 minutes, straining and hurting myself trying to go. To clarify, the issue isn't needing to go, it's actually going.

When it finally comes out, it's tiny pebbles that shouldn't have caused any problems at all. As stated, I am nearing 30. The only dietary change in my life was cutting back on soda. I still drink it, but not every day like I used to. Now I drink sparkling water every day all day.

Is this just part of the aging process? Or..? I'm really confused why I'm struggling.
