Issue with toe nail

I hit my toe when i was kid and the nail got deformed. Now as you see in the pictures, the nail is half and thick and doesn't look nice. My questions: Does my nail have fungus? I have been using an antifungal solution, thought I am not sure if I should. How unhealthy my nail is? I was told it can't grow by covering the whole toe because its base is damaged, what do you think? Is there a way to make it look and be healthier? Any advices on how to treat it?jimageimage
