Hi I was diagnosed with cough variant asthma in 2011 which means I don't have the wheeze associated with some asthmas. If I get a cold I cough and the cough can cause my asthma to start. If the weather is cold outside I have to breathe through something warm like a scarf so I am breathing in warm air otherwise I will start coughing.
I do get shortness of breath going up hill and when I exercise.
At the moment I am seeing a respiratory specialist as I have been unwell since November with the cough and tight chest

Hello. I would be OK with participating in you and your friend's research, but I think you need to provide some details about who is conducting the survey and how the info will be used. This is a semi-public forum on a medical website, so a lot of anonymous patient background is published here already. But I don't think our comments can be reproduced legally without some kind of authorization from the website admins.
If you post an explanation about your research, maybe you will get the results you're seeking.
