Hi Guys,

Just an update. Going into week five on Sertraline currently on 100mg. I have General anxiety disorder and been suffering for five years. Previous meds did nothing.

So far so good 😊 I'm not feeling any anxiety and the negative thoughts have gone.

Thank you so much to all the people who commented on my posts. Thanks to you guys I continued with the meds. Hope you are all well.

    Hi Onestepatatime

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better.  When did you go up to 100mg?Did you have many more side effects when you did the increase?  Did you havee sleep problem before setraline, has your sleep improved now?

I am also going into the 5th week but just on 50mg and still feeling quite anxious/nervous some of the time especially in the mornings and sleep still poor. Don't know if I need to increase my dose.

Any advice and encouragement woudl be great

    thanks

Hi I'm on 100mg have been for about three week. Had side effects that lasted just over a week. Feeling down, increased anxiety headache, insomnia.

All side effects have now gone and I'm sleeping much better.

I would say you need to increase that's how I felt in the morning. Talk to your GP.

Here if you need anymore advice xx

    Hi Onestepatatime,

I started at 25mg and slowly increased to 175. I've been on 175 for 2 weeks now. Yesterday was not a good day but today I started even worse with depression, anxiety and nervousness, I hadn't had depression for about 10 days so I was very dissapointed to se ethat come back. It lifted after a few hours so no it's just nervousness and chest anxiety. I can't focus on my work and just waiting for relief. I know lot of people say it can take 4 to 8 weeks, which I will go through but it's dissapointing not to see better results. I also take 100mg Trazadone at bed time and 5mg of diazepam in the mornings. I used to take anywhere from 0.5mg to 2 mg per day of lorazapam. I quit that because of rebound anxiety and addiction and jumped to diazepam to help me get off. I also tried some Atarax which is not supposed to be addictive but it doesn't work for everything and it hasn't worked for me.

What do you think? Is it the Zoloft, lorazapam, diazepam, Tranzadone or Atarax?

      Hi Paul,

It's hard to say. It could be a combination of the meds your taking. When I first started sertraline with propanolo it gave me horrible side effects. I now take both together and I'm fine.

You need to give it longer. I know it can feel like a set back when anxiety hits again but just be patient.

I think you need to speak with your doctor and see if these combination of meds is right for you. Take care and keep us updated.
