It feels like my anxiety is taking over :/

HI everyone. I have had anxiety for the past two years, non stop everyday. I have recently decided that i've had enough as its gotten insanely worse and have finally had the courage to go to the doctors and be put on Citalopram. The problem is, its only 10mg to start off with so i'm not sure it'll work after the first couple weeks of taking it?

I have been taking 50mg Sertraline per day for the last 2.5 months. It took about 2 weeks to notice the difference, but now I am totally fine.
It has helped me particularly with work doing stressful things like presentations and speaking outloud in a group. It has completely changed my life. I didn't think I had mood swings before taking it, but since, I have found that I don't get anywhere near as wound up about things as I used to, and the odd thing that does bother me, I am able to deal with it quicker and in a more rational way.
For some medication, I don't think you are prescribed as strong a dosage so you should ask you GP. Just give them a call if you don't want to go in and a GP should be able to call you back. Or maybe call the 111 number to see if they have any further info on Citalopram. It might be that 10mg of Citalopram has the same effects as 50mg of Sertraline. If you have been taking it for a few weeks and still don't notice the difference, you should go back to your GP and maybe they will change your medication or dosage. Hope this helps xxx
