    Hi Kathryn

Sorry to hear you are no so good. Maybe this particular medication is not for you. I would advise that you take a trip back to your doctor. Don't get despondent, easier said than done I know but doing nothing is not an option. If you feel no better or worse even, change the medication. Xxxx

Kathryn, I started at 50mg, went to 100mg after two weeks and when I got to my eighth week was feeling worse than before starting sertraline. I am overly sensitive to medication and haven’t found anything yet that I seem to tolerate. When I called my doc to see what to do, it was extremely disappointing to be told to start tapering off, I was really hoping this would be the one. If you are told to stop, please be sure you get a tapering plan in place. I’ve been cutting down in half each week and it’s been pretty tough at that. The combination of more sustained anxiety and no real change in depression and constant nausea and abdominal issues is what made me throw in the towel. Since reducing, the abdominal issues are improving a bit, I just feel flu like and my neck and shoulders are hurting a lot.  After starting my taper, I saw posts advising a more gradual drop than my doc suggested and kinda wish I went that route. No immediate plans for something new to try, we shall see. Keep in mind, some folks get the benefits of sertraline after a longer start period than others, if you can tolerate what you’re going through a bit longer, you never know, it may be better soon. I just couldn’t tolerate it myself, we’re all different. Best of luck to you.
