It's a long time since I have cried, but......

I'm in PAIN, fed up and sorry for myself!!

A couple of days ago I blacked out (again)!  My husband managed, after a struggle, to scrape me up from the bathroom floor, wet, heavy, unable to help myself much.  We managed to get me into bed, stayed in there for 1 1/2days and tried to get back to normal this morning BUT I'm in a lot of pain - PMR and aggressive OA!  Pred hasn't worked, cocodamol hasn't worked, have had a cry and I suppose I am beginning to feel a bit better.  It's good to have a cry now and again.😏

Sometimes having a good cry is all we can do.

Sorry to hear about your struggle.

Is there something else (healthwise ) going on to cause the blackouts ?

I wish you all the best in the coming days and weeks.

    Keep smiling

Yikes! Constance!  What is this about black-outs?? Did I miss something in my reading on PMR and prednisone, or do you assume this is unrelated?

I am puzzled by the 2 week stay in the hospital- was this for testing, or had you been injured in the fall?

I hope you are following up on this as aggressively as possible. My cousin has this and it has reduced her confidence in going out and getting around. (After a year of tests, the doctors had not found a cause, so she is trying to live with it.)

If your pain is from PMR, I'd agree with the others who urge you to increase the prednisone.  The research at the Mayo clinic cited here recently indicates that the long-term effects of prednisone (at a typical PMR dose) seem to be fairly minimal for most people. No prizes are awarded for needless suffering!!

Does prednisone usually help OA?  Can you have have shots in the joints (cortisone or hyaluronic acid)- since you have lots of affected joints, you'd have to pick a few of the major ones!!

I am very sorry to hear you are in such trouble- PMR and OA are really bad enough, you don't need a life filled with The Element of Surprise (at least when the surprise is a tumble to the ground.)  I agree with Rimmy- things really have to change for the better!

    All the best!

So sorry to hear this.  Take care, and you have a right to feel sorry for yourself every so often.  Its only natural.
