It's BACK. Is this normal? what should i do?

Hey guys was hoping my last post was actually going to be my last post. Out of the blue last friday my symptoms have come back. I now have my ears popping, full feeling, ear ache, slight dizziness, nausea, frequent shakes, headaches and extreme fatigue. This has extremely depressed me as i was soo close to having a couple weeks of feeling almost symptom free. If this is vestibular neuritis is this a common occurence? I thought of going to the hospital last night but decided to take 2 gravol and sleep off the shakes and nausea, as they usually send me home anyways. The other thing is that on the friday i was woking on tearing apart my basement to redo it as we found some black mold behind the shower surround and tub. Is it possible that the mold flared up this week of hell. Just looking for some answers its like iam back at the symptoms of month 1 and iam 5 months in.

Well mould in itself can cause all kinds of problems, also did you use a chemical spray to clean it? Unfortuntely all sorts of things can trigger 'attacks', and even repeated motion like up and down movements, back and forth etc can do it,for me.!

You know I've pinpointed my vertigo to about every three weeks.

however I did find something to help me, I'm left with a few of the

symptoms but not the banging in the head and I can function.

Im not sure we can mention drugs on this forum so I'm not going

to. I have not seen anyone mention what helps them

You can list drugs, just not websites.  What did you find?  I have had good results with prednisone over the 2 years that I have been recovering.  I also have taken gabapentin and several antibiotics.  Ceftin, Cefzil, Avalox, etc.  Most issues are caused by the body's inability to eliminate fluid around the inner ear or damage to the vestibular nerve.

I've had my symptoms for 5-6 yrs now headaches.. Neck ache..dizziness..feeling like I'm gonna pass out And feeling sick tried all kinds of meds but nothing seems to stop the symptoms I did have a beta blocker for the headache they sort of worked but my doctor would only give me 14 tablets and had to pay for a new packet every 2 weeks.. The only thing that stops all symptoms is to lie down as it seems to be worse standing up or walking.. But I can't lie down for the rest of my life..it's just so frustrating that doctors don't seem to wanna help you.. It ruins your day to day life feeling crap all the time as some days I actually think I feel like I'm dying it's that bad I just hope one-day it stops

Have u ever seen a chiropractor? I do and I swear she's saved my life! I suspect I have VN which started 5 months ago but I haven't been dizzy for about 4.5 months. I was getting headaches and nausea aswell and we found my neck and back was all out of alignment. Since seeing her I barely get headaches now and the nausea has completely gone.

From my own experience over the past 3 years of balance problems and dizzys, having good weeks and then back to dizzy again, getting my hopes up and then dashed, i can only say it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.  There aren't any clear cut answers.  I have been diagnosed with BPPV and silent migraines causing MAV, at least i know the difference between the 2, but i think one can also trigger the other.  All best wishes for your improvement.

I have been 95 percent "recovered " for over 6 months. My symptoms started in April 2015 , disappeared between July and September 2015 , only to reappear until Jan 2016. Unfortunately, the past few days I'm having a few symptoms ( up to about 25 percent again) but I think I may have a virus or something which is aggravating things.

I have always been one of those silly people who thinks " great , I'm feeling better, so I'll just redecorate the whole house and landscape my gardens- so to speak!!!

?It's my guess you've overdone things and it's knocked you back. Some of us never learn. LOL.

Agree, when i have a good day i tend to knock myself out, but i realise now it will always be my achilles heel.  The slightest change can upset it.  Right now i appear to have some fluid in my left ear that's causing havoc, probably due to hay fever or something.  I know this too shall pass, but it does limit certain things i would like to do.  I once though i could get up a step ladder and paint a wall only to fall forwards and paint a big arc across the wall.  Needless to say i couldn't complete the job. Some of us may never learn but i don't think this condition should define us on a good daysmile

Yes totally agree Anne. When i have a 'good' day, I will attack the garden knowing i will, pay the price the day after, and prob the day after that! So,i now plan my 'busy chore' days so i can rest and recover after!! Shopping days too! And as you say we cant let this illness define us.

Good for you Gillian, I am due to see the consultant tomorrow for a follow up, it was about a year ago that i saw him last.  I am going to ask him to look in my left ear as it has felt tender and fluidy lately and worsened my diziness when i lie backwards or roll over.  That's the BPPV but also have the MAV going on and his best advice was letting me know i have 2 conditions going on not just one.  Now i know the difference it has helped me understand much better.  I know for sure now that cheese and chocolate affect me, but i think it depends also on the amounts, so i sometimes try a cheeky piece of chocolate to see if i can get away with it.  I get annoyed with some people at work who think it's all a bit of a joke, but they don't mean any harm, just don't realise how it affects every aspect of your life.  Keep wellsmile

I feel dizzy with head aches and light headed most days I've tried the chiropractors.. Massage and most meds nothing seems to help.. The only thing that stops the feelings is to have a glass or two of wine.. My husband says it's cause it relaxes me and I'm not tenensing my neck to stop the dizziness... Has anyone else tried or doe's this..
