It's not as infectious as everyone thinks

I just found out my ex tested negative for hsv, despite at least a year of unprotected sex several years back before I knew I had it (type 2). Amazing. I was completely untreated (not on antivirals). This thing is not as infectious as everyone thinks.

Thank you so much jane80952 I have know since I was 15 I'm 36 now I'm older and more responsible I've met someone great and I'm on antivirals but I'm scared He's older and condoms are challenge so I'm watching my symptoms taking supplements and antivirals and praying he won't catch it I care about him a lot thus makes me feel better. PS so paranoid about every tingle being an outbreak jeez

It really depends on many factors. I got it from one encounter, as have some others on here. Not supposed to be as common, but it can certainly happen. My giver allegedly did not know and never had recognised symptoms, or so he says. On the other hand, you get unknowingly discordant couples who have been together for years and the negative partner remains negative. Luck of the dice, amongst other factors.

Also I'm assuming you are female which makes it higher because we gave more mucus membranes

thats exactly how it was with my ex.

we was having sex since i got diagnosed with it in december of 2015.. we were actively having sex during my current breakout and we thought it was a chemical burn.. he has been tested 3 TIMES and tested negatively for all of it..

    how is that possible ?

    i got mine ONE TIME.

we rarely use protection i mean we do now because he is messing around with another female . but i havent had sex with him in like a month or two. i was so confused shocked and surprised all in one in how he didnt have it..but its a sigh of release.

    ive never taken antivirals ..

people around me are very nosey..i leave that type of pill bottle around and they will know everything..

its good that your significant other doesnt have it.

i think its easier for a male to pass it to a female then a female to pass it to a male
