it's understandable that checks need to be made to see that people really are eligible for benefits. what really annoys me is when benefits staff, as already mentioned, give out wrong information causing hardship and distress.

    Some interesting comments here:-

Some people are abusing the IB system: very true, but so are the Government. They forced people onto IB, so they could massage, manipulate or even falsify the unemployment figures.

Now the're so many people claiming IB the Government are up in arms.

The saying \"You cannot have your cake and eat it\" comes to mind.

I am unable to get IB as I had not paid enough national insurance credits....... You say this but it is genuine people that suffer, I loved my job in the banking industry but I am in so much pain day in day out, I cannot work as I am either doped up due to the medication or in so much pain I cannot function and the fibro fog with my condition over takes me!!! There are many people that fiddle the system and it isn't fair on those that are genuine and would like to have a \"normal\" life pain free and healthy enough to work in the job I loved dearly!!!! and so the genuine people have to fight for what is their right!!!!!

The last remark is intended towards the Government - in case of confusion.

    Hiya BertieF,

Yes I thought that, but it annoys me that there are people suffering and having difficulty claiming benefits and yet those that do not \"need\" it just sponging off the system. I regard the benefits system hard, I met the \"criteria\" to obtain IB credits but no pay and as I am classed as disabled, claiming DLA is just another minefield and yet I see people digging the garden etc and they have claimed it for years?  Why is hard for genuine people to obtain, there is no justice!!!!!

I could go and on but such is life!!!!

    Regards

I Filled in the IB/IS forms 4 years ago due to a cronic back problem and was told that I was to receive both benefits. After 4 years worth of dental treatment free as I thought was on IS [u:662ed30f49]and[/u:662ed30f49] IB and the dentist saying it was fine, I have just found out that I was informed wrong (my words) and I am only receiving IB.

Jobcentre claim I was only ever in receipt of IB even though I was told 5 weeks ago I was on both in a meeting I had with them!!!!

    HI there everyone,

I have got help now from an independent guy who used to work for DWP and he works on a no win no fee basis and he has helped me so far as I would have give up if it wasn't for him as he knows what he is talking about!!!! My claim had gone to the Commissioner and now it appears there is errors in why the panels came to their decisions? something again I would not have been aware of?

    Kind regards
