Morning all.

I have a question. Does anyone else suffer with constant itching during peri whilst on hrt. I thought hrt was supposed to get rid of these symptoms!!

Thanks.

Helen.

can be a peri symptom also can be a defiency too for some like B12 or Vit D etc

Hello helen. I'm on HRT and had terrible itching. Someone advised me to take Magnesium supplements which I do along with calcium and it's improved dramatically.

    Hi Helen

I take Elleste Duet 1mg. And on the patient information leaflet in the box it says to ''Stop taking immediately and tell your doctor if you have itching all over your body ''

My friend had itching when she first started taking it & doctor changed her to a different one

Hope you get some relief soon

    Regards Karen smile

    Good Morning,

No I have not experienced itching (yet) but I have heard others complain about it.

Helen, I'm not on HRT persay.  I take progesterone every 3 months to shed the lining as I am not fully menopausal but, I have a neighbour who went nuts with the itching at first on HRT.  She needed her dose changed and tweaked.  There was something in the compounding that she had issues with.  Once they adjusted that and the dosage (blood testing)...she got rid of the itching.

Though I am not fully Menopausal yet, I do get the itching and it drives me nuts!

    Maybe, speak to your doc????

This may not be connected but this is important for all women.  Where is the itching.  If it is genitalia area some might think it is a Uti or caused by HRT, BUT look at another site on patient.info regarding Lichen sclerosus a condition that affects lots of women particularly (but not only) menopausal women.  It's first symptons are itching particularly at night., also tearing and soreness during intimacy will develop.  This condition has no advertising because it is often suspected of and treated for thrush, also because of the embarrassment factor but early detection can lead to a better outcome for sufferers which can be serious.  Any woman itching in the genitalia area should check out the Lichen Sclerosus forum,
