Itching deep in ear

Posted , 2 users are following.

Over the last 6 months I've had intermittent itching deep in my right ear, and when it flares up it drives me to distraction for days at a time. I finally bought a little device to get a look inside, and unsurprisingly there a big old hair hanging out. I suspect this is the culprit, but it looks too close to my ear drum for me to be able to safely trim or pull it myself. Am I right that this could cause a distracting itching sensation? If so, how do I handle the situation safely? TIA!

I think this is more likely to be dermatitis or a skin infection in your ear. Dont try putting things in your ear to try and get the hair out...it will only regrow anyway.Try asking at the chemist/pharmacy....they may have some drops to help with the itchiness. try not to scratch it and definitely dont put anything in your ear to try and scratch inside.
