also steroids help too.
The itching is coming from inside the body and needs to be addressed the same way. I have no luck with topical treatment.
of course everyone is different.

4 months on from having Shingles I still get itching on my forehead frequently (though not every day).
I've worked out what most of the triggers are (mainly heat/sunlight - so I spent much of the summer indoors), though there are always new ones that set it off (like trying on a new faux-fur hat on Saturday in readiness for the winter - just *1 second* of that touching my face was enough for me :-( ).

I get the itching every single day, and it starts the minute I wake up and is worse again in the evening when i am not occupied, it's not so bad when i am busy and focusing on work etc, I sometimes wake in the early hours and it starts again, and i can only lie on one side in bed as if the pillow touches my forehead it irritates it! It drives me mad and I feel so annoyed that I am given no help at the eye clinic, asall i get told every time i go is to "give it time" and am given yet more drops or gel that do nothing at all to get rid of the itching!

You poor thing.
I have to make sure there are several extra layers of pillow case on top of my pillow as I can feel every feather if my forehead touches it.
The eye clinic doesn't seem to understand what you're experiencing at all - what does your doctor say about it?

My last appointment at the eye clinic was 3 months ago and I am due to go back soon, but no doubt I will just be told the same thing as before, I just like to know that my sight is still ok but if only there was something to stop the constant itching! The only thing I can put on my eyelid is vaseline, just to keep it moist, I am on steroid drops, one a day and eye gel to keep my eyes from drying out, but I am fighting a losing battle!
