Itching is driving me crazy-questions

Posted , 14 users are following.

For the last couple of days I have been extremely itchy. The itching is mainly towards the bum and at the vaginal opening. I do

have a white patch at the vaginal opening but towards bum it is mostly red and feels bumpy. The itching is keeping me awake at night. I take baking soda baths, apply coconut oil and have a cream made up of 3% steroid and canes tan .  I am not on clob. Or Dermovate. So questions

What else can help the itching?

When LS is under control do symptoms stay away for a day, a week, or a month?

I was diagnosed in Oct 2015 and have issues almost everyday since when I have a day when I feel 'normal'. I could sing, fly jump with joy for the relief

Does clob help the itch?

Does LS spread more if it's not treated?

if it is treated will it stay more in one area

i love this forum. It it the only thing that has kept mr from totally freaking out

Hi Sue i was diagnosed in December and started using Demovate before seeing LS specialist. I changed my diet and cut out most sugar as recommended by most of the ladies on this forum . I use Dermovate twice a week and have not a flare up yet. I tried emu oil but that is giving me a slight itch so will try coconut next. I dont think my LS is spreading. I think the Dermovate has it under control. I believe my LS would have spread if it hadnt been treated. My labia minor fused has any one heard about it healing back. Or is the damage permanent.

    Hi Sue

I have had this condition for several years and luckily have kept it under control with Eumovate but just recently had an awful flare up - very sore and very itchy - I have been using Epaderm Cream (available from Boots) rubbing it on morning and night and two to three times during the day - it really has helped - try it!!

      Hi Issy,

Is Eumovate okay for use on the vulva? How long did it take to work a bit? Thanks!

Hi Cath - yes it's ok to use on the vulva - it was originally prescribed by my doctor before you could buy it over the counter.  I believe Dermovate is stronger than Eumovate but can only be got on prescription.   It usually takes a couple of days putting it on morning and night.

      Hi IssyL

Are you in Canada by chance. I know we don't have Boots where I am from. Will all drug stores carry. Thanks for the info. The itch is just so annoying and enough to drive me crazy. Hard not to scratch it. I am currently in the US on vacation and did get an appointment with Gyno tomorrow. Yay

No I am in UK but you can get Epaderm on Amazon

Thank you! I could only see epaderm 2 in 1 cream or epaderm ointment on Boots website - which do you use or neither? Sorry for all the questions!

Hi Cath -  I use the Epaderm cream 2 - 1 emollient and skin cleanser - it has proved me with almost instant relief and in the five days I have been using it I have very little soreness or itchiness - it is worth a try

Me again! Would you use the epaderm cream at the same time as using the eumovate? I've now got both, and I'm not sure whether to try one for a few days first, or to combine them both into a daily routine? Thank you so much!

Hi Cath - to start with I use the eumovate morning and night and put the epaderm on each time I go to the loo.   As the soreness and itchiness subsides I use the eumovate at night and then use the epaderm just in the morning after washing and anytime during the day when it feels uncomfortable.  It makes sense to me to keep the whole area lubricated so the skin doesn't rub - hope it works for you!
