I vividly remember having some areas of a burning sensation in perimenopause. One was on the top of my right foot, it was circular.  The other was the area above my lip. That one got so intense I would put an ice bag on it in the late afternoon.

Also, i did notice that my upper chest skin got very red. Now this happened in menopause.  But it was very unusual and out of character with my normal skin tone.

This is just a thought, but it's very common that in perimenopause when women start to have symptoms, it's more than likely a decrease in your progesterone levels.  You might also notice erratic period cycles, and possibly some clotting.  That all goes together to show a picture of decreasing progesterone levels.

Yes I did.  And the closer I got to menopause, it became frozen shoulder, lower back pain, and eventually chronic muscle and ligament wide spread pain.  Four years into menopause I got into vaginal atrophy and dryness.  I was given vaginal Estrace for that problem, and oddly, all the muscle and ligament pain went away.  It was a little bit of heaven.

Good luck.  This menopause thing isn't easy.
