Itchy Eyes after not blinking

Hello there, i am an 18 year old kid from Romania . So a few days ago i started having some problems with my eyes, those beeing that both eyes were really ichy , felt like they are burning and i had to blink every second and kinda blured vision on the right eye(but that almost got away now). Tbh i stay a lot in front of a monitor/or phone .For the last 4 years i played video games and all till like 3 am on a fully dark room ,basically all the blue light was coming straight in to my eyes but i had no problem at all .A few days ago i started having this problem, even though for the last year i started adding some more light in my room ( started realising is not great for my eyes to watch all that blue light on a pich black room).Another problem and i think this is the real one is that i was going to sleep at 12 pm and had to wake up at 7 (for school., but basically i wasn t doing nothing as it was almost over ) .I started not staying that much infront of the monitor those days and stood under a blanket or something so i could see only dark and my eyes could get commfortable . It started felling better but i wonder if i have to go to an ophtalmologyst , if it is a big problem or something .

You are on the brink of dry eye syndrome and need to take action now to stop it progressing. You admit you are having a lot of screen time and this is the main problem as you are forgetting to blink. Limit that screen time to only 1 hour and then walk away from it for at least an hour. Dont use screens late at night. Dont use them in the dark. Give yourself a cut off time like 8pm. You do seem to understand the cause so it is up to you to initiate the cure.

Dry eye syndrome is becoming common all over the world due to addiction to screens and lack of blinking. Some sufferers are experiencing a lot of pain and even corneal ulcers. Dont let yours get to this point.

Get yourself some Hypromellose drops...also called artificial tears, from your chemist/pharmacy and use them several times a day to give your eyes some recovery. you can use them as much as you like but also use them before you shut your eyes to sleep. Please cut down that screen time., and remember to blink rapidly every 10 minutes or so. Good luck
