Itchy/irritated foreskin, Please read and help!!!

Hi,

For several years now I have been getting an itchy irritated area on my foreskin. This can appear randomly or is obviously agrivated by masturbation or sex which is frustrating.

I have a ring of tissue around my foreskin which is slightly raised in areas which I believe to be from a surgery as a child (not 100% sure what this was but something to do with my urine hole). This tends to be where the irritation occurs.

I have been to several doctors over the years and been dismissed as just irritation and suggested to use lube. Tried thrush cream as suspected Thrush. Tried mild hydrocortisone as suspected eczema. Had a STD screening as that was suggested. During this time I have had no luck and now I am just putting up with the odd irritation.

It becomes most troublesome after sex or masturbation as immediately afterwards it will become incredibly sore and itchy, meaning I cant enjoy myself.

Has anyone got any ideas or advice? PLEASE.

Thanks in advance

Would you mind posting some photos of the foreskin and the irritated area? It's quite difficult to help without sight of the abnormal 'ring of tissue'.

Did anyone tell you what was wrong with your 'urine hole'?

E.g. Was it too tight (stenosis) or were you born with a pee hole coming off the side (aka epispadias, hypospadias, etc) ?

    Rgds,

This is not the best image but you can see a small spot of irritation in the centre. It doesn't always flare up red so hard to capture

This image shows the most raised part of skin, the rest is hard to capture as not as raised as all

Thank you for your reply, I am unsure what the surgery was. I could ask my parents but would be a little embarassed, I THINK it was something to do with moving or closing a pee hole... not 100% though.

    Dear ljt,

Thanks for posting more photos, which show a small area of inflammation (redness). It sounds like you've tried the 'standard' treatments for balanoposthitis, namely antifungal and mild steroid creams. I might suggest washing with a moisturising soap ('Simple soap', Oilatum soap, Hydromol bath and shower, etc) and then applying an emollient like Dibrobase or Aveeno afterwards. No need to buy huge tubs, just a small tube/s to check if they are suitable.

Have you tried Daktacort ointment? It's a combined steroid/antifungal preparation that's quite effective and better than separate anti-fungal and steroid creams. It might be helpful to have it handy after sex or masturbation if these trigger the irritation.

    Hope these suggestions help.

    Adhari.
