Itchy mouth and itchy sides of mouth

For years I have experienced an itchy mouth, on the roof of my mouth. Plus the sides of my mouth will itch. This is on the outside of my mouth, not the inside. Sometimes this is all together, sometimes it is just one or the other. I can't figure out a trigger, other than allergies, seasonal allergies. Sometimes it wakes me at night. It comes and goes, I cannot determine when it will happen. Anyone else ever have this?
