Itchy recurring bumps after bug bite

Posted , 4 users are following.

On Easter of this year i got what i assumed was a spider bite on my left ankle. It was inflamed and very irritated for weeks. the bump never went away it just kept almost healing then recurring. Now, many little bumps in the sane circular area (dime sized) popped up that are extremely itchy. i have been putting hydrocortisone cream and neosporin on it but its not helped yet. This is going on 5 months and i really dont know what it is or how to get rid of it.

Megan its time to see a doctor. You may have an underlying infection which will not heal with neosporin or hydrocortisone cream. You may even need to have a swab taken to find out whats going on. Neosporin also has a high risk of an allergic reaction so maybe stop using it.

If after all this time this lesion is still there, you should see a doctor. You don't even know for sure what kind of insect has bitten you.

I also noticed that the hair on your leg is shaved, so as a suggestion, I would tell you not to run the razor over the lesion because this can contribute to its irritation.
