Suggest you look at what is happening for the skin on a daily basis: do you shower everyday? have you recently changed washing powder/additives for washing machine? Do you change underwear everyday?

Do you use antiperspirant on a daily basis down there? Do you shave off your pubic hair? have you recently slept in a different bed such as at a hotel or hostel, that kind of thing? What has been happening for you that is in anyway different in the last week or so, or immediately before this started?

I do shave sometimes, i don't use antiperspirant, and i do all the other things, but this has been happening for like a year now so i don't think its basic stuff.

Is there any unusual features on the skin surface, you would notice this most after shaving the area? Cotton underwear only, man-made fibres, or a mixture of both types? Do you sweat quite a lot on a regular basis, for example gym workouts, running or other cardio active stuff perhaps?

You could have a skin condition, but there is usually some evidence of this on the surface level of the skin.

Also, do you have skin problems or recognised conditions elsewhere on your body?

Sorry for the wait, there are not any unusual features where it itches, its pretty red and kinda shinny, shaving doesn't effect it, i am kinda sweaty at times, this does not occur anywhere else.

Thanks for the further info. So, you need to look for sources of irritation going on for your groin region - unfortunately there can be many potential sources.

From what you use to wash and shower with, what your clothes are washed in and so on, bed sheets and clothing you may wear during the night.

As with any skin irritation, remove the source and eventually the skin will return to normal. What you may have to do is try a range of different things, for example, buy some new packs of underwear and only use these exclusively until you have used them all prior to washing them.

The other quantity of time where the skin is in contact with something other than day clothes is at night - so it depends whether you wear anything for bed or your skin simply has contact with the bed sheets, and so on.

What can also give a clue is changes that have occurred from when this was not happening to what is currently in place as a regular skin contact - so again, this is things like soap powder and additives to washing, changes to soap and other forms of body wash.

You may need to take a systematic approach, new underwear, soaps and shower gels and suchlike that are for sensitive skin, washing powder that is non-bio and for sensitive skin. All these things I have done myself, there may be no clear one-thing that seems to be creating this circumstance, different things may be adding together to create what you have.

If all else fails you could seek the help of a Dermatologist ....
