Itchy, sore, red and raw labia and vulva. Occuring problem for years with no fix!

So, let me give you a breakdown of my symptoms first. This problem started 3 - 4 years ago but it is not constant. Sometimes I can go months without any problem and all of a sudden, my lower labia, vulva and vaginal opening all become extremely inflammed, sore, itchy and almost dry feeling. The itchiness can be unbearable but scratching only makes the symptoms worse. What calms the inflamation is creams such as canesten cream or sudocrem. It is not thrush or bacterial vaginosis as I have treated myself with the pessaries and 7 night cream multiple times over with no result. It is definitely something external, because my discharge is entirely healthy and normal. I have been to so many doctors to try and find a prognosis but they don't seem to know either or will hand me yet another prescription for thrush and bacterial vaginosis treatments. Only one doctor ever was able to help. She examined my vagina and took samples from it as well as from under the clit hood. She gave me antibiotics of some sort but never actually told me what was wrong with me, and for a year the problem vanished. Now it is doing it yet again and I am losing my mind trying to figure out what is wrong with me. The waiting list for the gynecologist is months long. Have any other women been through this hell and if you have, did you manage to find any workable treatments?

I'm sorry you're dealing with this for so long. Have you had a biopsy of the areas? Sounds a lot like VIN which is precancerous dysplatia of the vulva. While symptoms can be different for everyone, the symptoms u speak of can be symptoms of VIN. It's caused by the HPV virus. Have you ever had problems with the HPV?

PLEASE READ THIS LADIES!
Please have your doctor test you for Lichen Sclerosus!!
I suffered for years with the itch and medications that didn't work.
Saw a new dr 2 years ago. One look and she knew immediately what
it was. Prescribed Clobetasol. 05% ointment...miracle cure. LS is an
autoimmune disease that affects the tissue of the vulva and
surrounding areas. No cure but it is very manageable with the
proper treatment! I now use my ointment maybe once a month.
Can now live a pain free itch free life! Wish you all the best of luck!

i know you posted this awhile ago but I’m wondering if you manage to sort the problem out?
my problem is near identical to you and it’s driving me mad. I went to doctor 2 weeks ago was give pesseries called vagifem it’s to balance hormones and also canastan for a few days it was fine then flared up again and I’m wondering wether high sugar intake sparked it off I just don’t know. I’m back to doctors Monday and no doubt then it won’t be so red raw I need to go now lol I do hope you are sorted

I'm suffering from my second bout atm and im suspecting sugar has set it off. The first bout was just after Christmas-lots of sugar, and this second bout flared up after drinking chocolate milkshakes and eating crisps and icecream instead of dinner for 3 days in a row.
im guessing i created a highly acidic environment in my body. I also wonder about the autoimmune issue someone else referred to
i got Covid 3 weeks after my second jab- and was forced to take them closer together than recommended or lose my job- so triple whammy spike protein. From wide reading, I've discovered that the spike protein affects mitochondrial function which in turn increases the risk of autoimmune diseases.
I'm going to redouble my efforts to avoid sugar and increase mitochondrial health, and of course increase water intake!

Yes it is hell, and so frustrating! I had this problem for almost 10 years before I found a cure. I tried everything from Doctor's to natural paths and every cream, lotion and potion, I was so desperate I would have tired anything and did! I found the cure by accident really. Since then I have had complete relief from the itching, burning, redness I told my sister who had menstrual problems and it has helped her. Somehow this balances hormones and boosts the immune system. Let me give you the cure then the story. Black Cumin Seed and Coriander seed made into a Tea. I bought a book for my ex-husband called " The Prime Diet" He didn't want to read it so I read it. They talked about a tea that helps your body and "primes" it for weight loss. So I made the tea and started drinking it. While it did nothing for weight loss for me, it stopped the itching!!!! When I stopped drinking the tea a month later the itching came back. When I started the tea again within 24 hours or less it was gone!!! Honestly it was like a miracle. I suffered for 10 years countless tests, creams, pills ect. I live in Canada and this is the brand I use " Amazing Herbs" Black Seed which is a 100 percent pure black cumin seed or Nigella Sativa Seeds. I put one full heaping TABLESPOON of this with a TEASPOON of coriander seeds, must be seeds not ground coriander. I put them in a infuser tea pot for 2 hours and then drink. You can also buy the liquid of black seed which gives you an extra boost but it was the combination of both daily that helped and has continued to help for the last 2 years. I couldn't have sex and it was so bad sometimes I would have to put a ice cube on my vagina just to numb it so I could sleep. I don't know if this will help you but if your at your wits end it couldn't hurt to try. Both my sister and I have been helped by this tea for different reasons. If you try it and it works please let me know. So many women are suffering needlessly without any answers. Diane

Hi iver,
I'm not sure how things are going for you with this issue but I'd certainly be interested in an update.
I have been dealing with exactly the same thing and have narrowed the 'outbreaks' down to specific times. It seems every time my new partner and I have sex without a condom this happens to me. The outbreak usually lasts between to 3-4 weeks. My Dr has basically laughed at me when I suggested I think I may be allergic to my partners semen (apparently it's a thing), I mean it could all be a huge coincidence, but no one else seems to have any idea what it is. I've been prescribed medication for all the usual culprits canesten for thrush (pessary and cream), Diprosone (cortisone ointment) to calm the redness and stop the awful itch and even Sudocrem (nappy cream) to help provide a barrier to help the skin to heal. I'm at my wits end... hence back googling to see if anyone else has this problem and found a solution.
Would love to hear from anyone who might have found some solution to stop the outbreaks happening!
