Itchy/sore throat spots have appeared what does it mean?

hi so for a month now ive been having an itchy throat and sore tonsils. that first spot you see was there but then went away but the itchiness and soreness what still there then just recently the last two appeared. ive been to the doctors gave me regular antibiotics it didnt work then another type of white antibiotics didnt work then gave me a mouthwash that also didnt work. i have an appointment with a throat specialist but its at the end of the month so if anyone knows whats going on that be great! also if anyone also knows what that round extra skin is on the top of my tonsils ive had that on there for a long time never knew what it was or if its normal. Thank you
