I live in South Wales UK although I am not Welsh. I am aboout 30 miles North of Cardiff and about 30 miles north and a nit on the right of the hospital I seem to be spending a lot of time either visiting for appointments or operations. I have had quite a few. My left hip was done on Tuesday 14th April this year. I was supposed to have my right hip done on 14th September but is was cancled. No new date as yet.

Hi Angela, I am near Cottingham and am in Beverley every Tuesday looking after my granddaughter.  I had mine done at Spire as saw consultant at Hull Royal and he transferred me to see him at Spire, so it was more like a hotel than a hospital but still NHS.  If you want to talk or meet up if you have any worries, then I M more than happy to do so, my op went smoothly, had no bruising or swelling and was back driving my car at 6 weeks post op xxx

Hi Nadine, It really is a small world. Who was your surgeon, and how did you get transferred to the Spire? I hoped that I might get a transfer when they cancelled my surgery this week as I'll have been waiting 27 weeks when I'm finally operated (unless they cancel again!), but there was nothing doing. Thanks for the reassurance.

      Hi Angela

My surgeon is Mr Raguraman and I just saw him once at Hull Royal and he just transferred me, think it was so as to be quicker, but as it happened I had 2 pain block injections and a resurfacing last year before he did the replacement.  He didn't want to do it until he had exhausted other options because of my age, although I am 58.  So I was probably under his care for over 18 months.  In saying that he is a brilliant surgeon, had no swelling or bruising and very neat scar.  You will be fine Angela and if you want to private message me with any questions I am here for you x
