I had my first one when I was 23yrs old.  Same thing as you (you brought back memories).  I am now 33yrs old.  If you get it again when it is small you can try natural remedies (that is how I treat it now if it comes up) but it is too large to worry about that now.  Yes antibiotics often do NOTHING...something to do with not in the blood flow or something.  I know the pain, trying not to move at all.  You need to go to the doctor or the hospital now (you arent in danger).  I left mine until I could barely walk...just very slowly and yes it hurt to pee.  My boyfriend carried me.  We went to the hospital and I told him could he ask them first if it is ok to come in...silly me.  They looked at it, gave me some drugs for the pain and drained it that morning.  The greatest moment in my life after!!!...no pain!!!  They said it was the right thing to do.  Go to the hospital sister.  I promise...when you are in pain that is what the hospital is for.  Sending you a hug xxx

I know you will be just lying there.  It is just horriable!  I know sister.  You dare not move as the pain becomes even more greater.  I know the doctor will retract from that statement because it has increased in size even more.  Part of medical practice is there should never be pain...that is why we are given painkillers.  Ring your doctor and say you cant move, it has got alot bigger and that the pain is unbearable (drama it up a bit if needed) and I promise you surgery (drained...small cut that heals in a couple of days) will occur.  Clearly you are not responding as it has only got larger.  I can remember the third time I had it...they put me in hospital and decided they would give me antibotics, the next day it was larger and then they operated.  It must be in their rule book...try antibiotics first...but it isnt getting smaller rather larger...they will do something about it.  Please give your a doctor a ring...I promise...you wont have to put up with it for two more long painful days.  xxxx

If you are in that much pain, go to the hospital now. I had my first BC experience when was 19 (I'm 28 now) and it got so big that I was rushed to hospital by ambulance where it burst on its own. I then had it every month for 18 months and did as many home remedies as I could because no doctor actually told me what it was. I stopped getting occurrences until last Thursday (7 years since my last one) and I went straight to a doctor where I was put on antibiotics but was told if in 2 days I was still in discomfort they would escalate it, saturday I was back at the dr, I got a note from the dr to go to the ED. At the ED I was taken back and within the hour I was admitted to the hospital and being prepped for surgery and underwent a marsipalization of my cyst and gland on Sunday morning.

You need to do what is right for you. Home remedies might be okay for some to do, but it won't help long term and they will come back without medical intervention. There is no real reason why they come and go but the marsipalization is one of the procedures that creates it so the cyst can't re fill.

      Go to the hospital.

Hi Sarah, I had a marsipalization and one month later it came back.  Doctors treat what they see in front of them not the root of the course.  Natural remedies open my up everytime and never get large.  I have a very normal life because of Natural remedies.  If I didnt use them I would have been in ER at least 20times in my life.  Stress brings mine on.  xxx

It sucks that yours is down to stress.

I was told at the hospital that it can be brought on by shaving. If a hair follicle gets infected, the infection can then travel to other areas - causing a cyst to fill up. Or dry sex. I can't say why mine flared up again. I had shaved a week before it, I had sex with my boyfriend and I had my period. So it could have been one of the 3. Like I said I haven't had a painful flare up (it could have filled up unnoticed and fixed itself) for 7 years.

I'll be definitely being more mindful of what I do. And I'm hoping my surgery was the working fixture.

    Dear jenefee93,

You should keep it warm and sit in hot water to make the apsces mature faster and burst on its own. After it bursts keep doing hor sitz baths to keep it clean and the cloged duct open. Do this at least three times a day, it realy helps preventing reocurence, because it tends to come back :-(

I hope you are better allready!
